was wondering if any one knows if a 'Mitsubishi starion-2ltr turbo gearbox' will fit in a same year 84'GK sigma GSR without too much hastle

I *think* it will if your GK GSR is a 2.6L Manual. Someone should be able to confirm it though.

Starion boxes arew wide and most GSR are also wide so it should bolt on. The issues you will need to check are......

1. input splines are they the same or will you need to change clutch plate as well
2. spigot bearing not sure whether these are bigger or not
3. output shaft splines are they the same or not and if not will the yoke from the starion fit the uni of the sigma or will you be up for a tailshaft as well.
4. BIG Difference as meantioned.. HYDROLIC CLUTCH yours at present will be a cable.

apart from that should be good. There is not mechanical strength advantage going the Starion box, over the GSR box....
