So ive got atm 2 6x9 speakers on my parcel shelf up the back of my gaylant they have been there several months and ive noticed the tweeter has melted on them
So i was wondering what i can do to stop that from happening as i have bought 4 new ones that are quite expensive and i dont want the same thing happening

Best method is to stop the sun getting to them at all.

You can get spacers that change the angle the units sit at and raise the units. Mate of mine has a couple in his car. He loves them cause all he has to do to the parcel shelf is drill a couple holes. no cutting the shelf.

Any cover over the speakers is a good thing (even if it's just the standard mesh or plastic one that comes with the speakers), and if you're not a venetians fan (which I'm not, to be honest!), I find that a rear window louvre, such as I have (sadly no pics on me at the moment, but I'll take one tonight and post it later
), does the job well, and looks pretty sweet too. Keeps the glare from your rear view mirror too.
