My wagon has one, and I got another one from ebay just as a backup
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
r they genuine mits/oem, Sigmaproject?
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
You'll find that none of these cars ever came with a locking fuel cap, only a filler door lock (which was rubbish anyway...) A locking cap is a good idea but make sure you keep the spare key somewhere you can find it
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
what about trayback l200's I wonder?
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
If you can't find a lockable filler maybe modify the tube that goes to the fuel tank a put a mesh grate on it so you can't stick a hose in there?
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
There's a tapered 'spring' that you can force into the neck of the fuel filler - this was one method that was used to try and prevent fuel from being siphoned. Trying to put a metal gauze screen in there would pose a couple of problems I'd think.Merv wrote:If you can't find a lockable filler maybe modify the tube that goes to the fuel tank a put a mesh grate on it so you can't stick a hose in there?

Was/is that a product that was/is purchas-able from a supercheap type place?
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
and I wonder would it be easy to remove by somone siphoning?

There's also another advantage to having a locking cap on your fuel tank - it will stop idiots from tampering with your fuel too (or small kids putting the garden hose in it, filling it with sand and gravel or anything else they can get their hands on...)
Re: lockable fuel caps oem
Well it just involves access to the tank an emptier tank & a female to female connection.Merv wrote:Gas conversion?? Never seen some one syphone LPG :p
The most expensive car I've ever bought was a 1984 Mitsubishi... in 2014.
