SYDNEY BASED SIGMA PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST

Post by VCENZO »

Can anyone tell me who I can go and see to sort my Sigma?
I have a 40/80 cam with 0.5 inch lift, twin side draft 45mm dellortos with 40mm chokes (and I can't remember what type of dizzy curve).
I need a specialist who can help me achieve 120kW at the rear wheels.
Coltspeed are no longer in business. Don't know who else there is that is good.

In all honesty Coltspeed were the only early mitsu focused guys around anywhere. Oh, with the exception of RPW in QLD of course.
If you have to take your car to someone in Sydney to sort out the only guy I can think that has a good background with early Japanese stuff is Stewart Wilkins Motorsport (http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/) but make sure you're wallet is well fattened. Plus his bread and butter is Datsun but he'll still be of help

That said, if you're just after some pointers on how to extract some more power out of an Astron RPW would know, they run an Astron powered drag car.

Or, y'know, use the search button on here.

max power was at 6100 rpm

its a few years ago but this is my sheet from a dyno shoot out day back in 2007

apart from balancing , boring and setting the valve into the head I did all my own machining and assembly at home in the shed
finding guys that play with the good old astron must be getting harder

Ron (Coltspeed) hasn't done much in the last couple of years. He been in and out of hosipital for the most part..... Although he sounds like he's on the mend when I spoke to him the other day!

One of his drop kick sons runs his website now days and filters any of the enquires you place. So its pretty hard to get hold of Ron for any type of sensible technical info regarding the old stuff.
