carby question

carby question

i have a 2l ge sigma i turn the car off and fuel still dripping into the carby which is making the car hard to start the carby is standard how to i fix it ?

Hi Armor117

Does your carb has a Fuel Cut Solenoid Valve? If so you could check if it still get at least 9V and if the rod operates...

It is time to rebuild the carby, or worse case scenario get a replacement one. It is weird that it is flooding after the engine is off - normally it'll flood if the needle and seat are stuffed, there's debris under the seat or the fuel float is split or badly adjusted. It will be difficult to start if the auto choke is jammed open. If the fuel cut solenoid is stuffed it will do one of 2 things - the engine will run on after the ignition is turned off (which is not cool - this means the actautor rod is stuck in the solenoid and won't shut down fuel supply after the ignition is off) or it will die and stay mostly dead (which is still not cool - this means the actuator rod is stuck in the ignition off location pointing out of the solenoid). If you can get someone to hold the fuel cut solenoid while you turn the ignition off and on without starting the engine they should be able to feel the solenoid 'clicking' open and closed. If it's not doing that - you know it's not working.

yer the engine has be run for about 2sec after the keys thz for the help guys ill have a look tommow
