Re: help with motor wanting to efi
i have read all them before and that's on a 2.6 block not using manga motor or a 2lr there 2.6 so does not help me like i asked what efi head will bolt up to my 2lr block and if i cant what do i need to do to a magna motor to bolt in
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
All astron heads are interchangable 1850, 200, 2600 AI and AII, as are all exhaust manifolds. Inlt manifolds are different from AI to AII so if you want to go factory efi just grab a Magna head along with its manifold, computer and loom.
As far as I am aware there is no bolt efi on kit for an AI Astron engine.

Re: help with motor wanting to efi
You will need to keep your head otherwise the compression ratio will drop dramatically. If you were doing a turbo, the M6 or M7 Magna head would be fine but you would have to check that the valves will miss the top of the bore as I vaguely remember something about that issue.
Here is an Astron-1 to Astron-2 adaptor on ebay that will allow you to use a magna EFI manifold on your Astron-1 head.
Cheers.

Re: help with motor wanting to efi
thz you guy that help what if i use a magna motor what will i need to swap to bolt in
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
Using the magna motor will:
- give you the correct compression to match the head
- give more power (cubis inches)
- bolt up to your 2 litre gearbox
Is it an auto 2.6 or manual?

Re: help with motor wanting to efi
its an auto 2.6 but someone was saying i need to put a wlesh pulg in the back of the motor and use a gn sigma timeing chine cover?
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
That is correct. All FWD Astons were narrow blocks as were 2.0lt's so it will bolt to your gearbox and engine mounts. You will need to wire in the Magna loom and Get the throttle body moved to the front as well as the thermostat.
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
so what wesh plug and the gj sigma timeing cover thats it ?
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
Not what I was on about. I was apologizing for telling him to search when he already had. He didn't mention that he had searched already.75wagon wrote:I thought he did?armor117 wrote:OK so my motor is a G52B/4G52

Re: help with motor wanting to efi
ok thz for the help guy the last bit of information i need is were i put the welsh pulg in the magna motor gut have been a great help
Re: help with motor wanting to efi
At the rear of the block, on the drivers side just above the bell housing there will be a water outlet that is no longer needed, just tap a welsh plug into that and it will be all good.
In Magna form it runs a coolant pipe back to the front of the engine and you don't need it in RWD form.
The stock pipe is held in by two small bolts. DO NOT spend ages making a very fancy, chrone cover plate and carefully cutting out gasket paper to seal this like I DID
IT WILL weap like MINE DOES and you can't get to it once the engine is in the car
