Re: 2.6 N/A head help
Because when the engine builder chose those pistons back in the day (90's) they were designed to run with the 2L Jap spec heads because of thicker castings and less likely to blow head gaskets. I wanted to use a better head flow wise thus chose the M9 head for increased compression. It also allows m...

Hey guys just a quick question. I have my 1.6L, im putting a Jap 5 speed on it (not sure what its from originally), do I need to change the flywheel at all? Thought was if its a 2L box would I need a 2L flywheel? But then again the Lancers did come out with 5 speeds in 1.6L...... Any help appreciate...

So what pistons do you use to get a 4G32 out 2.6mm? What size does that make it?
Very interested

Re: 2.6 N/A head help
So head is now on motor. Went fairly standard and didnt end up doing any work to it apart from a service. Running an M9 head with forged flat top pistons. Needed the M9 head as the pistons sit 1.2mm down the bore so reduced combustion chamber size was needed to up compression to 9.7:1 Install will b...

If they are the same as the 4G32 chain drive then the one on the back of the motor is 40mm and the others are 35mm.
Welsh plugs should be stamped with their size on them.

I was after a set a while ago and everyone I talked to said they weren't available anymore.
I got given a set from a mates shed that had sat there for ages....if you do find them I would be interested too.

if you get any hoses so long as they are stamped ADR it should be legal.
I did this option in my galant and am doing it in my lancer, i put extra insulation in the middle of them and then cable tied them to the strut to prevent rubbing.

coolant temp warning light
Hi guys, I am wanting to put in a coolant temp warning light if the car gets too hot. I am trying to find a water temp sensor that will trigger a light at 110 degrees, like a switch not a progressive one like what is in the cars temp gauge normally. Any ideas where I could get one or what I could us...

It has been done before with an NA engine, here is the build read http://www.sigma-galant.com/viewtopic.php?t=485 but this was done by a person so lots of money saved by taking their time and doing it themselves. These motors dont like to fit with the firewall, you need a specific head (from which I...

2.6 N/A head help
Hey guys I have my 2.6L being built at the moment however I am unsure what to do with the head. Our LC Hatch has GJ front brakes and R31 rear calipers. Both these cars use a 7/8" master cylinder. You need to get a 7/8" cylinder Matt (H) BTW: The engineer who I am getting to do the RTA report tested the brakes and they passed the functionality test - but I have to increase the reserv...

Re: Brake booster?!
So Superscann what your saying is that you should be increasing the booster size in proportion to the increase of brakes. ie if I increase my brakes by 30% (just say) then I should be increasing my booster by 30%? Where would you draw the line at not needing to increase the booster for size of brake...

Re: Sigma ll calipers on black and geen struts
I have a set of GH green struts and GH sigma struts. As far as I was aware Green struts were from a Scorpion. Sigma and Scorpion run different calipers. Reason people like Green Struts is because you can remove the mounting bracket and make up your own one to suit different calipers (normally afterm...

Had a friend who owned a Galant back in the 70's, the story goes he blew 2 pistons and it kept running for 2 weeks until he saved enough money to buy a new motor (again a 1.6) Mine has been thrashed by me for close to 5 years with only servicing needing. Its down on compression in all cylinders and ...

LC lancer diff is straight bolt in that is stronger by a bit (thicker axles). If you want it to handle stupid power get a custom one or shortened Hilux (bit of work involved in conversion). Or Scorpion diff (but again modification of mounts) and it is also a bit wider....not a problem if you have fl...

Why re-shell it (unless it's a whole lot uglier than it looks in the pics ...)? If you are going to khanacross it, you will bend it at some stage. Even doing motorkhanas it won't stay shiny for long.
