Re: 1979 Chrysler LC Lancer -4G conversion
Removed box, found throwout bearing gummed up ...going out and staying there. More issues, the clutch is totally stuffed.Guess that's what you get for not being able to drive a half cut. New replacement $395 cheapest .Ouch.. By the way, being a 240mm diameter (not 225mm like sigmas) finding the right...

Mine will only idle without the , rather bulky, Magna air box.i.e.the plastic box with the filter in it.
Can anyone tell me why?

Re: LB Hatch Fuel Return line
I sort of know what you are trying to do... We've got 4 LC's and I can't comment on LB's too much ...although they are nearly the same...bit smaller and have the chrome bumpers...but of the 4 ,3 had fuel return 1 didnt...one of the 1979 ones didnt.Go figure I'd say find a LC with one and steal the t...

Re: 1979 Chrysler LC Lancer -4G conversion
Not sure about the electrical tape on the inlet to the throttle body but the rest looks excellent, great job mate. I agree. You should have used duct tape. Something else I just saw, you are using pretty much the same fuse box I am for my EFI conversion on my GN. OK ..it'll be done professonally so...

Re: trading post lb hatch unfinished project...
sweet! yea, ive heard alot of conflicting views about the alternator wiring... (eg... external to internal regulator) i wish... on my starion box, the two studs that bolt to the mount are 60mm apart... i havent measured the jap/lancer mount but its smaller... not by much... its probably 50 or 55mm ...

Re: trading post lb hatch unfinished project...
i have the wiring diagram for a LC hatch which is pretty much identical .
i will see if I can get a copy to you. with the alt I think you will need a resistor...
Can't you use the lancer mount on the Starion box?.I'll have a look at mine again to be sure.

http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/12/img2859m.jpg Starion clutch pedal box installation...the modded original one would probably never have worked. It is quite easy. You only have to position it right ..bending of a bit of the upper bracket was needed.Afterwards I removed the entire LC clutch pedal..

Re: Was there a factory made 2.6T?
I've always told people the only factory Turbo was the 2 litre Astron that came in the 500 Sigma Turbo's that were made ( Starions aside ). Over the years plenty of people have argued against me and said that there was a factory 2.6 Astron Turbo made. Anyone know the final answer on this? I was at ...

Re: Inexpencive EFI options
I have just wired a 4G54 EFI into my 1979 LC Chrysler with electrics and associated parts from a 1996 TS Magna . Its running fine. It is easy once you have an abbreviated drawing . Apart from the obvious sensor/injector etc wiring I think I used 4 other wires in the entire loom. What can be cheaper ...

Price of LPG
Have people noticed that LPG prices have risen sharply in the last 12 months?. When I had our Camry installation done in January of this year it was on average 48 cents per litre. Now last Friday when Igot my last fill it was 62.5 cents per litre Thatsd a increase of 14.5 cents which is equivalent t...

I have issues with a leaking heater/fan in the LC and it looks like my back up unit is stuffed too.
Does anyone know if they are identical to a sigma one,has anyone got one.
I can supply a photo.
Cheers

Re: 1979 Chrysler LC Lancer -4G conversion
Great, the motor is running...although a little roughly. Its a bit loud though, suppose it does have the 3 inch exhaust...no turbo now it was to be expected . Yep she would idle and nothing else initially.I would try to rev and it would die...You really need to keep the stock TS/TR airbox with the loom...

this is exactly the same as my LA lance mate which is smaller than a ga/gb engine bay. the wide block fits into a manual chassis but the gear stick is further back and will hit the handbrake when i second or 4th. you will have to cut the tailshaft if you use a gn long extension housing wideblock 5s...

Re: Anyone done a hydraulic clutch conversion to a lb?
Yes I have one ,had a comparo, its too long for my LC and the original it was modified by welding original one when I picked up the car off Ebay anyway.
You could have it shortened...but its location may have to be moved over as well. Its got a HUGE spring in it ...be careful.
