Re: 4g32 distrubutor play
Hi, Yeah i have opened the top of dizzy and i can see one of the springs sitting in a weird position. The erratic idle / running was sourced to some corrosion and dodgy coil lead. I have the workshop manual but just don't want to open it all up and have the thing explode in my face :) Was hoping for...

Re: 4g32 distrubutor play
Hi Guys,
So it appears after talking with one of mates dads that the mechanical advance springs are broken or have slipped out. Is it an easy task to replace these springs?? and how do i get to them?
any help appreciated.
cheers,
Matt.

Re: 4g32 distrubutor play
pretty sure that it's not fuel related as i had the carbs etc running on the other engine before i changed it.
Just seems weird that the dizzy should have that sort of play.
cheers,
Matt

Hi Guys, Just put a 4g32 chain drive in the lancer the other week and now i seem to be having some issues. It runs fine then it seems to die / splutter and run real rough. I have a new dizzy cap and leads on order and will put them on on saturday. All those above things aside, this arvo i was having...

Installing Front shocks on an LA
Hi Guys,
I'm about to attempt the front shocks on the lancer this weekend.
Wanted to know what the trick was removing the the shock from the towers?
last time i tried i couldn't manage to unscrew the unit from the top spring seat.
cheers,
matt

Re: Installing a Distrubtor to a 4g32 chain engine
Hi Guys tried the above and it looked like the engine had been turned whilst it was out.
Needed to move that oil pump positioning thing around until i found the optimum spot!
took about 1.5 hours but all good now.
Thanks again for the help.

Re: what electronic dist fits the 1400cc LA
hi mate,
i bought a conversion kit from TR spares in south sydney. Cost around high 200's from memory. Easy to install and works well. The same kit services all T3T mistu distributors.
cheers

Re: LB Sedan leaf springs vs LB/LC hatch springs
Hi Sir, As far as i'm aware they are. I have put LB sedan leafs and galant wagon leafs in my LA. If you go for the wagon leafs you get a stack of 5 standard!!!!!!!! Cheap and easy conversion. Lancer leafs are rubbish with the 2 standard stack. Make sure you grab the wagon u bolts and fish plate as w...

Installing a Distrubtor to a 4g32 chain engine
Hi Guys, A few months back i removed the distributor from my 32 chain engine as i was potentially getting rid of it. As i turns out i think i will be using that engine after all. So my issue is that i have taken out the distributor and not marked anything as to positioning. Can any of you help as to...

Re: Twin SU's and Belt Drive 4g32
Hey Guys, Finally got around to sorting the heating issues. The issue was the manifold hose connection. Had the manifold water jacket connection plumbed to the outlet from the head. I did this as it had the same pipe diameter connection. This was not working as it didn't seem to have the right amoun...

Re: Twin SU's and Belt Drive 4g32
Hey guys, Cheers for the advise! 1. the thermostat is all good as it was working in my previous manifold... but i'll take it out and see what happens. 2. Not sure if the rocker cover or manifold are earthed so i'll give that a go. I suspect that this is probably the drama. Which bolt should i earth ...

Twin SU's and Belt Drive 4g32
Hi Guys, Purchased a set of Twin SU's and manifold for the lancer around 10months ago. Finally the other day i fitted them up!! Just wanted to clear up the myths of the belt drive 32 and the twins. Some said that the twins wouldn't fit as the fuel pump would get in the way. This is NOT the case. The...
