Looking really nice.
"New Windscreen rubber plastic"?
IIRC, the GC/GD wagons had GA/GB winsdscreens.
Where did those "New Windscreen rubber plastics" come from?
I want some

Good info here
One more thing - there is a difference between the GA/B and the GC/D control arms. FWIW, the GC/GD ones have a strengthening tab welded onto them where the GA/GB ones used to crack.

Just on the Saturn exhaust ports - Ive seen both square and round ports on GA/GB. Maybe because any Saturn head will fit any any Saturn motor UNLESS youve got the EGR stuff happening (then you MAY need to match the block to the head). I say 'MAY' because I'm pretty sure I put an EGR head on my 1500 ...
Thanks heaps Chris. I'm still trying to sort my GA front end - I don't like having the extra negative camber that the Scorp struts have given me. So: GH SIGMA struts wont help 'cos they are the same inclination as GH Scorp ones... I still cant see why this has happened - there's very little differen...
Really? Mk 2 Escort? I LOVED my Mk2 Escort Panel Van...but the rust ate it after I got stuck in the South Alligator river :( I got it home and finally sold it to a friend ("I Love Escorts") :@ who trashed it and dumped its remains in the Stockton dunes. Words fail me ..... Such a great car...
Does anyone know the GH Sigma kingpin inclination? I think it was posted here once in a table but I cant find it anymore. I have a suspicion that it was more than a GH Scorp.... So far, from searching, I have: GH Scorp: 9 degrees 30 mins GK Sigma: 8 degrees 45 mins GAGB: 8 degrees 50 mins GCGD: 9 de...
Rear springs: another common mod is to add a half spring - fasten it under the existing leaves going from the front to maybe 1/3 -1/2 way past the axle.
I seem to remember that wagon leaves are a bit wider and there are 5 of them - really only good for drifting - way hard.

^^^Tend to agree^^^ Depends how much $$ you want to spend and what the point of the exercise is. If your 1400 is tired you may need more than a rebore. If you just want something that goes better than the 1.4, grab a 1.6 that some Astron lover has thrown out and its a straight swap. Ive also heard y...
Pretty sure 1.4 and 1.6 have the same internals - only the 1.3 Saturn has a shorter stroke. As above, check your heads ports match.
If youre going to the trouble of boring a 1.4 to 1.6, while you're at it - Balance it

The last time I brought a car over from SA to NSW they insisted that it go on a weigh-bridge (even though it was obviously stock and I had an original Factory manual that said how much it weighed). I'm told not all Blue-Slip providers are that picky. But, as above, a blue slip is essentially an iden...
Looks like the original colour of my GA - "Navaho Beige" or "Navajo Beige": still available in madeup aerosol cans from Autopro and the like.
see: http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?i ... r-pg01.jpg but its not a very good likeness....

Very nice and yes that A/C is great. If you want to sell the A/C and no-one else has got in before me, drop me a PM. The modification to the oil filler cap is consistent with blow-by but overall it looks good.

Yes, the gearstick hole has to move back a bit - cut the required piece out from the rear of the hole then weld it back at the front of the hole. Plate the lot. Use a cross member from a later Galant - yes its too wide to fit where the GA one goes, but the bolt holes will line up with the rails. Onc...
^^I think Cheater is right ^^ From my experience with motorcycle heads, I have to say the only way is to "Suck it and see". But I would be interested to hear what sort of marginal gains are to be had from further development work on something designed by Mitsubishi R&D (Ive been to the...
^^Agreed^^ A fresh ballanced 4G32 will do 7k. The limiting factor seems to be the valve train - float is common and the cam journals wear over that. If you want it to last keep under 7k. Best to get the thing dynoed to see if you need to rev it that hard anyway. Boost should be fun, but once its dec...
I'm very sorry to hear of this.
You cant remind people too much of the sense in what you are saying.
Sometimes you have to take the risk of upsetting someone to save their life.
Take the risk guys - losing anyone to suicide really hurts.
T.
If you do nothing else, get it ballanced
And when youve finished setting it up, get the 45 (rather large unless for track work) set up on a dyno properly (= $$)

^^^^Dude speaks the truth^^^^ If you were pull my Saturn down you could see where the rods have been ground and polished in the ballancing process, but that's about it. I guess you might notice the port matching if you pulled the manifolds off too. And yeah, twin carbs, extractors and a lumpy idle a...
