Re: Valve clearance
Yep, I know, and they are equivalent to 0.25 and 0.3 mil. Quite a bit larger gap than what I've been using.

Re: Valve clearance
Really? My manual says
(hot)
inlet 0.15mm
Outlet 0.25mm
Cheater, yours are about 0.25 and 0.3, yes? Am I gonna be burning valves?

Re: It lives again!
Well, I've sanded a decade's worth of dirt off the body and wheels. Had to "rebuild" the back left pillar because I could fit my hand between the screen and the nearest metal. I'm off on a work trip for 2 months so the respray will have to wait. http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv3...

Can you still get those repro guards? I bought a couple ages ago for about $80ea pre-primered. Made life easy.

Re: Factory Turbo Pistons
Sorry to kinda hijack the thread... but I have a similar setup, and I'm not sure of the details because I didn't do the rebuild. When I did the head I remember flat top pistons with a cutout for definitely one valve (I assumed exhaust, being the bigger one). Forgive the novice question, but someone ...

Yep, exactly the problem I had. As described above, from about the horizontal crease around the top until you reach the crease again. Problem solved. I just squashed them down with cloth lined pliers. ![happy :)](./images/smilies/msn_happy.gif)

Re: Rolling the lip on the front guards.
I dunno about others, but my wheel/tyre/spring combo wasn't anything outrageous and I'd get scrubbing if going around a bumpy bend. Standard wheels are only 13" and I went up to 205/60/15 with 2" lowered springs to offset the wheel increase. I took the front guards off and rolled just the ...

The dash, tail and front side lights are all on the one fuse - I'd check that. I assume you've tried a different fuse or shorting across it?

Fantastic build pics, thanks heaps. While we're looking at foreign Scorpions... Here's one from Brussels http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv32/westgarthcam/DSCN2522.jpg Couldn't quite believe that in a country full of brand new Peugeots and Renaults there was an old Chysler. :-) http://i667.photob...

A set of 5 PW rims just went on ebay for $200 (no tyres)
Or another set of 4 (item 230339482571) is for sale at the moment.

There's a TS Magna head on ebay at the moment. Item 150341356265. Looking at the top and bottom - it looks to be an exact match. Do my extractors from the 2l fit on to the Magna studs? And the head and inlet manifold on my 2l are actually off a 2.6l auto (seemed easier and cheaper than repairing my ...

Re: rev lights wires
Need to know the Engine you're running and month/year of manufacture. Also depends where you're looking for them according to the rather dog-eared and greasy Gregorys manual wiring diagrams - they change several times between switch and the lamps themselves.

Re: help with my ge
Will have rust at the bottom of the rear of the front quarter panels - the drainage holes soon get clogged if sitting for long periods. Check the C pillar just where the chrome trim/rain gutter ends after coming down off the roof sides - that's another spot (nasty to repair too). If there's rust the...

Re: GH front Guards, wagon different to sedan?
Works the other way 'round too. My GE has GN wagon doors (with the adjust-from-inside black mirrors) and an L200 bonnet. Admittedly the bonnet doesn't have the chrome strip, but I was a beggar not a chooser at the time.

Re: commodore brake conversion GD coupe
Hi there. I have a GE Sigma/Galant which came with 13" rims and those piddly square pads and single spot calipers. I ripped the struts (discs, calipers, stub axles, bearings attached) out of a GH and swapped them straight in. It moves me up to those C shaped pads of the early Commodores. Hope t...

It lives again!
Hi there. I still drive my first car which I've had for just shy of 20 years. It's a 1978 Sigma Galant. When I bought it someone had already changed the motor for a 2litre version. Since then there's not a lot I haven't (had to) replace or rebuild. My wife rang me the other night to say the handbrak...
