Re: Question on Magna engine

I'm just wondering what is wrong with your triton motor in a older post you said that you had no comp in 3 - 4 cylinders -- Why !! is it holed pistons bent or burnt valves does the comp come up when you squirt some oil into the cylinders to seal the rings ? just thinking if it's something simple you...

Must be a way of making it fit and work
I had the same problem on a twin weber manifold that didn't cover the large rear water outlet

I welded a couple of pieces of aluminium flat to widen the contact area and machined the manifold mating surface flat again

Re: Magna Astron2 head with efi onto 4g52

I have only pulled apart 2.6 engines in the past, will a early 2.6 head work on 2.0? Some say yes but others say I will have compression problems, I have noticed there is a bevelled section on the piston on intake side and the piston appears to have a slight cut away for valve clearance. Is this co...

Guys, new to building cars and need some advice. I have just brought a 74 galant wagon and would really like a turbo motor in it. Will a head from a efi magna (astron2) with the efi setup fit onto a 4g52, will it work with the efi? Will I have compression problems? I have 4g52 in an la lancer and the head is a bit ordinary, I also have an la lancer with a turbo charged astron2 with tr magna head and injection, I know how to f...

a pair of 40 mm IDFs could be made work but you wound need to make a manifold - I dout you could buy one off the shelf there are twin weber manifolds around but for the DCOE models of cause there also could be bonnet clearance issues as well if you are thinking of a 2.6 with a bit more poke as a day...

the problem you may have if you wont to stay with the carb inlet is the rear water outlet on a magna head is bigger that your inlet manifold may cover

I'm a big fan (no pun :) ) of having an accessory temp gauge with degrees marked - so you actually KNOW what the water temperature is. I agree with putting a acc temp guage on first , then you will know what temp the engine is doing if its well under boiling I wouldn't do much at all and remember t...

commodores run a 5 stud pattern over the Starion's (and Simga's 4), Commodores also run the hub and rotor as one unit wheres as the sigma is seperate (thos it is a problem that can resolved easily enough) Look at Nissan Skyline R31 front rotos..... they are 4-stud pattern, ventilated and a bolt-on ...

Yes, 3.9's are good for road cars but 4.6 to 4.8's are perfect for rally cars - top-end speed isn't so much of a priority - it's more about punch between corners :D I found the 3.89 diff was near perfect for Sandown with my astron only needing 2 gears for the track once moving 3rd gear from turn 1 ...
