Re: 1977 Colt Galant Wagon

Avoid that shit like the plague. Do you guys have an option over there? We get 10% here but we also get two "Premium" options here that are ethanol free (for now). Naomi accidentally put E10 in the coupe back when it still had the old motor and it only took 15L to eat the internals out of ...

Re: Our new/old 75 Kermit Galant

Looks pretty clean. I'm starting to appreciate that colour green a bit more these days, if only because its original.
Speaking of which, if those side strips are made from stainless with a rubber insert don't scrap them. They're original and if you're not using them someone might appreciate them.

Re: 75wagon's 75 GC Wagon with twin carbs (pic heavy)

I think I might have a stickybeak at the next event. I think the only way to get more classic stuff to these shows is to stop whining and just take our cars out there. Might start off with the Galant though, not just because the Zed is still pretty rough round the edges but because the Galant has al...

Re: 75wagon's 75 GC Wagon with twin carbs (pic heavy)

How were the JDMST guys Dave? They seem to be a pretty active mob. I'm curious about this too. I'm not a huge fan of the modern import scene but some, in not most of em seem to appreciate old school j-tin so I guess they can't be completely written off. I heard there was a bit of shenanigans at the...

Man I'd love to see more old school stuff out at these meets. I'm not really big into the Tuner scene. I think it gets a little over the top sometimes but each to their own. I might have to bring the coupe out to these one night, Eastern Creek is only down the road so I don't really have an excuse. ...

How do i "like" the above post haha... try 15x9 - 0 offset? Would they fit? they're big. Even on my Zed they'd be tight (and even need flares I think) Either way, ROTA (love em or hate em) make "re-issues" of Hayashi Streets, Hayashi Yayoi and Something close to a Watanabe in th...

Well, considering I was reminded of them as I opened this thread back up tonight, I've realised I'd completely forgotten about the Bilbo's. Damn. They were only $400 at otomoto for a set in need of a decent clean :ban: crap. Anyway, WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS!! http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8435/ima...

Holy shit this is awesome!! I remember seeing this thing in the Unique Cars magazine feature a few years back. Does it appear to have ever been in running condition or is it just a static display? It's so damn cool that this has remained unchanged. Good luck with the future build  we'll be...

A stock 4G32 is actually incredibly good on fuel, even by modern standards

Re: Is this Possible

Yeah, for the money you'd sink into building one into an AWD car, you could easily buy an early evo and build it up into a modest weekend racer and save yourself a huge headache. Depending on what sort or racing you want to do, the car may need to be logbooked which means it needs to be approved by ...

Re: Here's a tough one for all

I'm thinking head gasket too. A compression test and cooling system pressure test should reveal those. Oh, and don't run without a thermostat. It doesn't do it any favours. For a start, it will start shutting off your cold start on your carb (assuming both that the GB's had them and that yours still...

Re: Is this Possible

Fitting the awd system would be way more trouble than its worth. You'd need to basically cut out and refabricate the rear floor pan. However I do believe the 2L 4G63 twin cam should go straight in (dont quote me on that) as the early excels ran Mitsubishi 4G93(??) And I believe that the blocks were ...

I've been meaning to post this one up for a while. It's a painting my girlfriend gave me for my birthday a while back. It's airbrush on canvas done by a mate of ours and it's based on a photo another mate took way back. Sorry about the junk in the foreground :$ http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k5...

Re: random problem when driving my galant

If your car has the stock solex carb (and is running a mechanical fuel pump) there is a small glass "porthole" in the side of it (should be facing the front of the car from memory) If there's no fuel visible then you know you're starving for fuel somewhere along the line. Next time it conk...

Before you plan any engine conversions, check with an engineer. Depending on what state you're in, the rules have changed. Pretty sure the rule in NSW is no larger then 2L now? It all seems up in the air at the moment. The best person to get a straigh answer from would be an engineer, that ...

Whilst I would make the same suggestion as A112H, not only because of the sacrilege being committed ( :P I'm stirring, but I still think its sacrilege..) but there's a swag of KE70's running running various versions of the 4AGE so there'd be a lot more parts and info available for cramming one under...

Not a thing except for the fact its a GB Galant

Aside from that it looks intact and complete which is a great place to start with any car, let alone ones lie ours that are so difficult to find parts for.

Any plans for it? It looks like a great base for a stock restoration.
