Re: Roller rockers on non-roller cam??
There is a guide online on how to drill the rockers to allow for an oil feed to the tappets but for the life of me I cannot find it again but as Cheater said, not really needed. I have used in the same situation as him.

Re: Another engine for the Triton.
Any reason your using aluminium buttons for gudgeon pin instead of the Teflon ones?
First time I have seen aluminium being used for these.

Re: Design me a 4g54 speedway engine?
It's been a lot of years since we last ran one of these on clay speedway tracks but will try my best to remember what we did. The bottom ends are pretty much bullet proof, remove balance shafts and get the bottom end balanced with clutch, flywheel and balancer. Run some decent flat top pistons and z...

Its the EGR port. You can block off if you want, weld it or grub screw it.

Re: 4G52 HEAD SPACER/THICKER GASKET.
Maybe get in contact with RPW. They only list for 4g9*, 4g6*, 4g15, 6g7* and 6a1* but they may be able to help out or point in right direction? http://www.rpw.com.au/shop/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage-ask.tpl&product_id=730&category_id=105&option=com_virtuemart&...

Re: 4g54 crack fix
Permatex have a green liquid that is a wick type sealant. It can be put on the outside of a nut and "wick" its way down the thread. As long as the crack is free of oil and the oil sender seals all along the bottom of the crack, it may work. Run a bead along the crack and leave over night f...

Re: 4G32 odd misfires
Does it do it the first time you try and pull high revs or is it after holding in the high revs or repeatedly off and on the revs past 4500 ie good the first time or two but degrades each time after that? Have you checked the fuel side? Sticky needle/seat not letting enough fuel in? Float set to low...
Re: CAMS
Yep, get it tuned and running properly first and see what it is like. You could then maybe drop the idle speed by 50 (maybe 100) rpms if your still not happy but don't go to far as you will have oil pressure probs if too low especially with a lopey idle.

Re: Nice EFI cam
Could it be a problem with the secondaries in the carbi making it run out of puff? Thought I remember reading that they had trouble with these and the diaphragms?
Mine seems to do the same thing and was going to check them out next time I am home.

What head do I need?
Hi All, Second post so please be gentle! I have a 4G54 Astron II and am looking at doing a mild build. I want to run a TR type magna head with the small water outlet at the rear and also want a carbie inlet manifold to suit with thermostat at the front. Can anyone tell me if/what vehicles this combo...

Hi All,
Have been lurking for a little while and thought I had better sign up.
I have joined the 4g54 brigade and have been reading up on ideas for making it go a bit better.
Look forward to contributing where I can.
