Re: suggestions for new car

I don't get it. You want to pull your sigma off the road to do it up, but you want to replace it with a 6 cyl. Why does it have to have 6 cyls? Are you planning on keeping this car you buy after you do up the sigma, or is it just a make do till it's done? I would go and buy the cheapest roadworthy c...

Re: Bought an 84 Sigma Grand Pa one owner.

Good news and bad news. I've decided not to buy it but my mate is instead. So one less car for me, but he assures me he's going to become a member of the site. This Sigma should be cruzin around West Syd as of Sunday. Hope you like the pics. http://i32.tinypic.com/2up47ww.jpg http://i26.tinypic.com/...

Re: hi all

Also for spray painting the car make sure you get a compressor which can flow enough for the spray gun. The best i found to suit the job at a decent price was the belt drive supercheap compressor but make sure you get it when it's on special. Prob cost about $500 but it will save so much hassle rat...

Re: Full comp Insurance - Agreed Value

I was asked how much I spent. But I'm sure you could insure it for more, only problem is you'd probably have to pay a higher premium calculated on the risk level they are taking. I don't know how much would it cost to insure my galant for $20000? The temptation to try to get a pay out like that was ...

Re: Who likes Datsuns???

I had a datsun 1200 coupe too. A14 in mine imported rally 5 speed in it. It was pretty quick in the early 90's, (slow by todays standards). It had a habit of breaking things. 9 gearboxes (until I put the 5 speed in) 4 diffs 1 tailshaft uni 1 engine mount. I remember DATSEZY. Hot 4's car show. Doing ...

Re: your 5 ultimate/dream cars

1. 1932 ford 3 window coupe
2. 1959 Holden FB wagon (lowered red, with white flash)
3. Evo 4,6,6.5,8,9,X (any of those will do as long as there black)
4. Lotus 7 (replica would do)
5. Meyers Manx

Speed doesn't really concern me, I just want something that turns heads.

The recaros in my galant are on the standard runners.
I used 2 original holes and had to redrill 4 more.
Recaros attach with 6 bolts not 4.

Re: Full comp Insurance - Agreed Value

Just for interest. I'm with GIO. I've got vintage car insurance with them. Your car has to be over 31 years old to be eligible. You have no limitations on when you can drive your car (unlike NRMA) I have agreed value and I also have a disposal option (so I get to keep it if it gets smashed and they ...

If you'd have bought a TV earlier you wouldn't have any kids to worry about. lol.

Your method takes a lot of planning, but does seem very effective.
I like it.

Re: Awkward jobs

I did a favour for a bloke at work a little while ago. Water pump on a 96 barina/ swift. you have to take the drivers wheel off, remove plastic panelling under the chassis rail. Drop the front right engine mount and lower the motor about 6 inches. remove bottom pulley. take off timing case undo alte...

They also came out on 1977 to '81 lancer hatchbacks.
On different wheels though.
1978 to 81 sigmas had the centres like those without the colt logos on them.

Re: Guess what I found..........

Can't say I'm too keen on the red interior. That interior is the original brown the coupes came with isn't it? It's just the lighting that makes it look a bit red surely? That looks a bit rusty too me, but closer inspection may reveal it to be better. I'd only pay enough to use it as a parts car it...

Re: hi all

I use a suction feed Iwata W87 spray gun.(bought it in 1993, cost $400 then) Good quality gear makes life a bit easier. If you haven't sprayed a car before I recommend staying away from metallics and opting for a solid colour. There is nothing special about how to put on that green, other then it's ...

yeah,
Just like the 'Sandman' Holden Panelvans, Valiant made the 'Drifter'.
Shame it doesn't have the original paint scheme.
Does anyone remember what the Ford Panelvans were called.
The Escort vans were 'Sundowners'

That's a 4G32B?
It probably had a lot of pollution gear, have you had a look under the bonnet of an '89 colt to see where the pipes go?
Sorry best I can do without a picture.

Re: Will the GE instrument cluster fit a GH at all?

I've always preferred the GE to the GH instrument panels.

Mitsubishi seemed to keep most of there parts interchangeable in the older models so I'd be suprised if it didn't fit.

sounds like American terminology to me.
It does say that it is direct injection.
I would put money on it, that it's still electronic.
I could be wrong though, i've been wrong before.
