Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!

The original carby is a Solex Mukini, It had to throats. Mine are 2 of the same. They were standard in Japan (and America from photos I've seen) They are few and far between. I've seen 5 pairs with my own eye's. I've owned 3 pairs. I have a spare pair but they are incomplete. I have the specs of the...

Re: cold-air intake & 4g32 carby options

You should work out what end result you want with your car. If you want to drift you'll need more power than a saturn can give you. Then again suppose what you call drifting...... To me drifting is what you see on the TV, big horsepower, lots of smoke and speed. If all you want to do is get sideways...

Re: new to this site, old school car enthused, ready to drive!

If you want to go faster, and don't want to spend much.... why don't you buy an automatic 2.6 GH Sigma, and put the motor and struts into your Galant. Surely you could get a rusty GH for $50 to $250. You need to get rid of the parking lights on your front beaver panel, they look shit. You need...

Re: How to stop rust?

You could make a car space with pavers or old bricks. Spray the fish oil inside your panels. remove door trims. I even sprayed it in the plenum chamber (the vent in front of the windscreen), It drains the water down to the front of the sills behind the mudguards (where your car collects all the dirt...

the mount I am using is out of a '77 to '81 lancer hatch.
It's similar to the standard mount, but the part that bolts to the gearbox has the holes further apart.

How much further from the firewall is the gearstick from standard?

My 2 litre sigma 5 speed stick is 1 inch further back than standard.
I just moved my console brackets the inch....You can't tell unless you've got another on to compare it to.

Re: How to stop rust?

Try not to park it on the grass.... I've found parking cars on grass for long periods is bad. The moisture from the ground acts like parking it in a very shallow pool of water. The sun evaporates the water from the ground and steams the car. (sorry can't think of a better way to explain it) Parking ...

My wagon has 3 full leaves and 1 short, It axle tramps like a bitch  The only time it doesn't is if I put stockies under it. The more traction I have, the more I have the problem (am I right?) Re: Couple of sigmas i seen while working...

My dad bought a GE sports pack brand new in 1980 from John L Motors in Auburn, It was yellow had brown pin stripes, a factory Sports wheel (the one with the square centre) and it also had galant badging. It also came with no radio at all, not even AM? I honestly think the only thing sporty about it ...

Re: GE sigma! (Mr265) Updated pic's

Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents... The Saab wheels look good because they're different. I don't think the turbo rims look as good with the orange paintwork. That's a really tidy GE, wish I'd never sold mine. Mine only had 98000k's was just as tidy but the silver paint was just starting to deterio...

Supercheap autos have a guide.
I think there are only 2 main boss kits for mitsubishi up to ths 90's.
At least that's what i recall from when I bought mine.
But that was 5 years ago.
Yours will be the same as my galant, I pretty confident.
You shouldn't have a problem finding one....

Re: Water pump stud snapped off, now waterpump is weeping ARGHHH

All studs are bolted in. Remove the water pump, and if there is enough of the stud left use vice grips to remove. If it snapped back level with the face of the block then get yourself an easy-out. Drill a small hole in the middle and use the easy-out to remove. If you have to buy an easy-out measure...

Re: suggestions for new car

Seriously, You can only buy what is for sale. Rear drive without looking at 'falcodores' are slim pickings if you want something newer then the '80's. I do like my '05 lancer VRX wagon. But it shits me too. Front drive spins too easy, and chop out front tyres bad. Good for the wife and going on holi...
