Re: How much to shave?? HELP!!!
The thing is, we arent actually "building" anything, we are just wanting to replace a bad head.
Turbo would be ideal, i can get turbos for for next to nothing, but a manifold and carby i cant.
From what ive read on this forum regarding turbo carbs, it sounds like an expensive process.

How much to shave?? HELP!!!
Hey guys, so after doin extensive research on this forum, ive decided EFI and turbo are too damn hard so wont be doing it. Instead ill just shave the astron 2 head to suit the astron 1 engine. But i really dont know how much to shave off to get the compression back up to at-least stock, if not a fra...

EFI conversion
So I've considered putting EFI and a turbo on my astron 1, it will soon have an astron 2 head (M28), I've found a few cheap magnas around, but unsure of what will fit with no or next to no hassle. The one I'm interested in is a TR. Will this fit straight on? If not, which ones do, or what is my best...

Re: New head not wot i thought
Awesome, thanks guys. Low compression is wot I'm after as I will turbo it very soon as my bro is pretty clever with that stuff. It will be a very basic, low boost set up at first, but will slowly upgrade to a better set up. I'm also considering putting a cam in it before we put the head on. Once I g...

New head not wot i thought
Hey guys, so I picked up my new head last night, it was advertised as an M2, but when I inspected it, it is actually an M28 (M8). So I was wondering if this will still bolt straight onto my astron 1 engine? Also, it has the small half circle at the front, and mine has the large, will this cause any ...

Will that Atleast bring it back to stock comp?
What's a good comp for stock engine?
STD? Or higher?
What exactly does high comp achieve?

Re: Another head question thats probly been asked 1000 times!!!
I'm getting the intake manifold with it, so all Good there! This will probly just show how mechanically stupid I am, but I thought old cars mostly had high comp due to the super fuel, and I thought shaving the head would up the comp a bit more, therefore making it run better on 98 fuel, which i hear...

Re: What RC (radio controlled) car do you have?
I used to have a Hobao Hyper 7 3.5cc 1:8 buggy. In the gravel it did unreal driftys, and easy as hell to control bein 4WD. I regrettably sold it not long ago for $50. I'm looking to get back into it and hopefully within 12 months I should have myself a HPI Vorza Flux with all the hotted up options, ...

Re: Another head question thats probly been asked 1000 times!!!
Ok, one more thing!!
Will shaving the head be any benefit on a totally stock engine?
If so, what will they be?
And on average, how much does it cost to shave it?

Re: Will it fit??
Bugger, im pretty sure he said he had the inlet manifold with it.
I gotta ring him back after 3 so ill double check with him then.
Now thats got me thinking, what about the exhaust manifold?
Will the original air cleaner still fit?
Will my carby still fit?
Far out, this isnt as easy as i thought!!!

Re: Will it fit??
I'm not sure either, in the ad he says M2, but in the pics its definitely an astron 2 rocker cover.
After looking at those pics, mine is an astron 1.
So is the astron 2 head a direct bolt on for an astron 1?

Re: Will it fit??
Thanks buddy, I was hoping it would!
I was told around $3-350 to replace just the exhaust valves,
But it could soon add up if there are other problems.

Re: Stock as a rock GJ
Were pretty sure no 3 exhaust valve is shagged.
But we won't know if it needs anything else till we take it off.
So I just figured it would be easier and possibly just as cheap to buy another one.
