info please galant offset rear cross member (trans)
ia have been told that the glant around 75 to 77 had an offset rear crossmember is this true and if so which model and does anyone have a spare. it apparently had 4 bolt holes for the rubber trans mount and could be used for manual or auto you just turned it around to suit the box.

to do with electric fans and water pump Davies Craig do both not sure if they have a pump to fit a 2.6 astron though. also Webers need high flow at low pressure 2.5 to 3 psi electric pumps may not be the answer as they tend to be high pressure if the manual pump has a return line you won't need a pr...

you could probably machine it out of nylon wear block material also known as bushing nylon any bearing supplier should be able to get it for you try CBC bearings or SKF or BSC motion technology buy more than you need as it won't hurt to have a spare one made as well. or if you can find what other ca...

using a additive such as flash-lube it wont hurt too since the fuels we have today are shit compared to what was available back in the 70's/80's and the astron 2 started 1985 onwards and were unleaded engines its made for unleaded if it has a cat converter in the bottom of the exhaust manifold. also...

fuel cut solenoids were notorious for failing on tritons as they used the same carbie as the sigma. mine would run on and not idle and drink fuel i solved all of these problems with a Webber. worn throttle shaft also cause problems such as surging when above 1500 revs motor would surge to 2000 -2200...

depending on the year the carbies are different for instance the bolts on the 88 mk triton go right through the carbie and the older models don't also some models 86 onwards had Bakelite bowl fitted to the factory carb if you change the carb you may have to change from bolts to studs or vice versa. ...
