Re: Engine from one Sigma into another?
Yea all the other stuff is easy enough, both engines will be outside of the car at the same time so swapping everything over won't be an issue - AS LONG AS IT ALL BOLTS ON. That's what I'm wanting confirmation on. And no firewall fluffing about or extending this extending that (things like radiator ...

Engine from one Sigma into another?
Hi guys, Have found a FWD 4g63 SOHC turbo GSR Sigma, just wondering if anyone knows if these are narrow or wide block and if they fit into the '84 RWD Sigma's? Asking as I've got a RWD Sigma with a 4g63 SOHC Carby (non-turbo) and can pick up this other Sigma cheap if the engine would fit to my KW132...

EX Lancer Shocks and Springs into Sigma?
Anyone know if EX Lancer shocks and springs will fit an '84 RWD Sigma GV/GK 4g63 2L SOHC Carby? See my display pic for exact car. I know the lancer springs fit up front as that's what I've got in now but what about shocks? Also, rear shocks and springs? Reason is that I'm looking for shortened shock...

Re: 4g63 Cam and Gilmer Belt Drive Q's
A mate of a mate, Auckland Cams I think they were called - guy was a legend. Cheap as chips and yea definitely notice a power gain in the top end. Still sluggish down low but I'd probably say it does even have a little more lower down too. Adjustable lifters no hydros in these babys! Yea found a pla...

Re: 4g63 Cam and Gilmer Belt Drive Q's
Thought I'd give it a bump. Still loving my lumpy cams but really wanting a Gilmer belt in there somewhere now to give it that high-pitch whine. Will mask the annoying rattle noise of the ball-bearing in the rocker cover breather with the lumpy cams smashing it around at about idle :) Anyone got any...

Re: My 1984 GV Sigma SE
Yea thinking about loweing the front maybe 5mil and the rear another 5mil or so. Springs were compressed but too far so sat on bumps all'round, still the same up front but got some Mitsi Diamante s/w rear springs and compressed them but not as much so the rear now has travel so has a little body rol...

Re: Indicator question
You'll need to find the same rating flasher relay as they can sometimes be sensitive to the load on the circuit. Some may light up but not flash, others might not even close circuit and flash at all... Ah I see, will the rating be on the one inside my car? Do they simply unplug or are they not able...

Re: Indicator question
Ok thanks.
So will a new (or one from a more modern car) flasher definitely make the indicators tick with a little more effort?
Or is it just a guess?

Re: Indicator question
You should be able to buy a flasher can from your local auto parts store for about $5 I would think. As far as I remember the only difference between them is if they are 3 or 4 pin. Go to a local wreckers and grab a few from different cars with the correct amount of pins to suit your car and try th...

Haha yea I was going to attempt to type the sound but then thought sh*t no one is going to understand it unless they've heard it before (if I'm lucky) haha! Will be checking out the right-hand bulbs/globes today and see what I find. So the little box/thing that makes the indicators blink, there is n...

Re: Indicator question
Ah doh completely forgot to check that, will check that tomorrow that would prob explain the right one being a tad slower. However they have both always been pretty slow and the box always clicks a few times before they actually start cranking. Will post up tomorrow if any bulbs are blown or not. Ch...

Indicator question
Hi there Don't know too much about the electrical stuff in cars. I've got an old '84 Mitsi Sigma SE, carby. The question(s) I've got is/are: why does my left indicator go quicker than the right? why does the right indicator sometimes stay on and then decide to flash slowly? how can I fix this? is it...

Re: Starion engine into Sigma?
Hey mate, As far as I know the Starion motor is externally the same as the 4G62BT ( 1.8 version ) which is what I have in my GK Sigma. It was a straight bolt in. The build thread is here if there is anything in there helps : http://sigma-galant.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=5434 Yea but the thing is...

I'm not stressing mate I'm just trying to gather as much (solid) info. as possible so I don't buy an engine from someones comment on here only to find the thing doesn't fit and the comment was a load of sh*t. That's what forum is for isn't it? To find/share info. with other like-minded and Mitsi own...

Re: Starion engine into Sigma?
He works at the NRMA And my uncle and dad grew up with sigma's, the 4g63T came out in the starions and cordias(someone correct me if im wrong), theyre pretty much the same as a 4g63 Yea the 4g63t and 4g63 will be the same if they are both the SOHC 8 valve ones (pre 1990?). Re: Starion engine into Sigma?
in a word, yes. Kinda makes sense when you think about it. Same engine, just turbo. Ah so they are the same engine, ok I wasn't too sure if they were or not. Much like the 4g93 and 4g93t? Used to have an NZ new lancer wagon with a 4g92 (same as 4g93 butt 1600) and ended up putting a 4g93t in it, a ...

Re: Starion engine into Sigma?
I'd keep my current head on the new engine? Or I'd keep the head that's on the new engine on the new engine?
Are you able to outline what wiring is needed? Yea I've got an auto elec. cuz who can probably do it for me if he's got time.

Re: Starion engine into Sigma?
Lol better to put what the car is incase someone new comes along with the knowledge I'm needing to know - save them asking! We have next to no Jap turbo Sigma's over here! They are extremely hard to find - so can't buy one to scrape clean of parts. Exhaust is fine, easy enough. But as for the EFI fu...

Starion engine into Sigma?
Hi guys Got an '84 Sigma SE (GV NZ model, equiv. to GK Aussie model?), 4g63 2L SOHC 8 Valve Carby, RWD, KM132/KW132 5spd jap gearbox. Would a 2L 8 valve turbo engine from a Starion bolt straight into my engine bay? I think it's a G63B engine. Would it also bolt to my gearbox? I've manage to find one...
