Re: WTF Turbo wheels???$$$?
That is fricken psychotic. Heck they aren't even polished or anything. I'd say some people got a really good tax cheque and it'd most likely be from a couple of datsun guys desperate for em. They must have finally seen the light and avoided their trx 15 inch rims and decided the sigma ones are the b...

Re: Cottees' Sigma GN Build
You guys really don't know how lucky you are. Up here in queensland there is only one wreckers who has any stock of galant lancers or sigma's and thats kelly wrecking at carseldine. They only get a couple of new cars to add to their stock every year or so. And the cars they have i wouldn't even cons...

Re: Fuel warning/empty light stays on
I'd second that. The switch is on the passengers side of the engine bay and is a white round thing with a black cap and two wires and a vacuum tube coming out of it. The manufacturer put it there to try and say you are driving in a way which isn't economical. If the vacuum line isn't connected it wi...

Re: Limelight GC
That kinda or panel damage would probably cost a few grand to have a workshop do it. You could do it your self in a weekend or two with a cut from another car, some painting equipment and a mig welder. The sad thing is that parting it out would probably get a good portion of what it'd cost to get a ...

That is such a tragic sight to see. Hope you have the ability to see it parted out to try and recoup some of your losses. Do you have to keep it in it's current state to be able to still take him to court or are you able to try and get some money for it in the mean time? It'd be such a shame to see ...

Re: Discussion topic... Multiple ownership
I would agree that the best way to increase the prices is to have a few really good examples in car shows and magazines to bring up the street cred value. Just take a look at the rx3, rx2 and r100. The rx4 is is the odd one out from the mazda group as very few people seem to want them at all. I pers...

I know these artices are almost 10 years old but they would still be of some use to you about the quality of the different gauges. They show the accuracy of a whole heap of tested gauges and it really does go to show that price doesn't always mean quality. http://autospeed.com.au/cms/title_Giant-Gau...

It was about 4 years i contacted them bout completing an upgrade but i ended up going to a starion front brake strut instead for the hoppers kit. At the time they were using a ford au3 falcon twin piston caliper and discs. They may have changed to a newer compination but i wouldn't think so.

Re: Cash for Clunkers - AU Version
I don't think we will have too much of a problem with that. One of the other news articles i saw said that you had to have to have owned the car for over 2 years so the only problem we would have is if people are looking to upgrade to a new car and have an old car that they are driving about. Re: Cash for Clunkers - AU Version
The amount of emissions created with the production of a new car is massive compared to the pollution created from an older vehicle. I can see sigma's and galants becoming almost extinct because their value is small and people will buy them for a small amount and then get a new car with a discount o...

This is the only info i have been able to find on putting a small lsd diff into a scorp diff. As far as i know the scorp diff housing is the same as the 80's lancer RWD. I can't see it being worth it when finding one of these lsd diff centres will set you back almost a grand alone. http://www.lancer...

Re: GJ wagon to GH sedan diff fit?
The Scorp diffs are the same control arm mountings and spring locations as their respect sedan models. So the GH scorp diff is the same mountings as the GH sedan, and all wagons and the GJ and later scorps have the same mountings as the GJ sedans and later. The biggest indication of the scorp diffs ...

Re: GJ wagon to GH sedan diff fit?
Also a GH sedan /wagon diff , and GJ_GK_GN wagon diff has the top trailing arm mounts cast into the diff housing. As in the bottom pic The only exception to this would be for a GH scorp diff as they have the top trailing arms having the bushes at both ends like they do in the GJ to GN sedan diffs. ...

All of the wagon diffs definitely have the same mounting as the GH models. All of the wagons are based on the gh body and only really the front suspension is different between the GH and the later models. You should be also able to pull off the front doors if you wanted to. They should bolt up as th...

Bolting in the engine isn't too much of a problem but getting everything else to work together is the bigger problem. What is included in the sale of the engine? Yep, the ball bearing is just a bit larger than the tip of the switch and yeah that is exactly how it's done. Even the workshop manuals are very clear about ensuring you don't lose the ball bearing when removing the switch.

The GN wagons have the 3.7:1 for the 1.6L and 2L and have a 3.42:1 for the 2.6L.
Pretty sure the GJ and GK are the same.
The GH has a 3.23, 3.42 and 3.7 but i'm not sure what ones corespond to which models.

Thankfully it's a carby. How good are you with tracing wiring about the place and your knowledge of all things automotive electrical. First thing to do is find out how it is immobilised. If when you turn the key and the starter motor engages then it's probably just disabled with the coil power wire....
