Re: Classic Japanese Show and Shine 26th Sep
Yeah overall it was a pretty good day. I didn't realise that the spectators would have to pay to get in and now i've got a bloody bad sunburn from there not being much shade. It was pretty cool when all of the show cars got to go out on the track for a few laps all at once. It wasn't the full racing...

Re: 4 spot brake uprgade for galant
I went and checked out VT commadore calipers on the weekend, They are a twin piston, but not opposed, both pistons are on the inside towards the strut. Very commonly found, and cheap. I was quoted $55 each. They are suited for a 297mm x 28mm disk. But you would want to check that you dont use a dis...

Re: 4G63 into GK GSR sigma ? advice needed
I can guarantee that you'll need to masage the firewall in by about 10 to 20mm but apart from that everything fits in as though it was ment for it. Just make sure you don't get a US exhaust manifold as they don't have to worry about a brake master cylinder like us and tend to take up all that extra ...

Classic Japanese Show and Shine 26th Sep
Hey all. I know this might be a little late notice but just giving you an heads up on the Classic Japanese Show and Shine being held at Lakeside Motor Racing Circuit on the Northside of Brisbane. It starts at 9am and finishes about 3pm on Sunday the 26th of September. It's too late to enter but it'd...

like most of these kind of questions, with an angle grinder and a welder anything is possible. but why? As above GE's are awesome, I am modding my GN to fit the GE front end for that reason. But seriously the wagon GJ front end will fit, bonnet straight swap. panels will bolt up you might have clea...

its a 4g63T mate, aka Evo 3 motor, DOHC :) It has forgies in it, used to pump out 500 to 600hp when it was in the evo. Car was parted out, but motor sat in the elements until now 12 months later. Couple of the valves are rusted, but nothing that cant be fixed, rest of the motor is prettty good. Its...

Re: 4 spot brake uprgade for galant
I'll try and explain this and if anyone wants to try and clear up or correct me where I'm wrong that'd be great. The unsprung weight affects the response at which the suspension can change to the varying road conditions. For example when your car hits a pot hole or bump the suspension attempts to ke...

I would personally just go for some black plastic paint. Don't know how'd it go with the UV light. Otherwise try armor all on it, don't know how long that'd go exposed to the elements either. Maybe a tyre shine might even work but i'd try and do a test first of a dodgy piece or in an area you don't ...

Re: Rear drum size?
That 228.6 is the same as is listed for the GK too. There isn't too much of a difference with the pad linings either. The workshop manual lists the galant having the 2 different rear drums with 203.0 (8") and 228.6 (9") which i think is for the wagon. The pad lings are 220mmx35mm and 243mm...

Re: GJ and GK GSR compatibility - bonnet and glove box?
The manuals i have list two different glove boxes for the GJ series. The GJ-P is the same as the GK ones but the glove boxes for the GJ-M, GJ-H and GJ-S are a different code. It's a bit weird that you couldn't screw it all together though as the hinge is the same for them. No idea what the differenc...

Re: 4 spot brake uprgade for galant
I thought out of curiosity that i'd check some VT calipers and brackets here to see how they compare and they are about the 4 to 5 kg. Don't have accurate scales to confirm properly. For a cheap factory caliper i think that is alright and you can still get good pads for them very easily not to menti...

Re: pepperpot wheels weight
The gsr pepper pots are a little easier to get then the sigma turbo/wherrit mags but you'd expect to pay a minimium of about $200 for a set if you are lucky. Seen them sell for as much as $800 but about 350-400 is a common price. Even the gsr pepper pots have been selling for 200 to 300 for a bare s...

Re: How to polish mag wheels
Actually i forgot to mention that yeah i also used a small sandblaster to clean up inside the holes of the pepper pots as it is just too hard to sand in there. Make sure you sand blast forst though as even the 120 grit is smoother then the sandblasting effect. Also you can use it to clean off the de...

Re: How to polish mag wheels
When i polished up mine i used about 120 to start to take out the machining grooves and the went in stages from there to 240, 400, 800, 1200 and then onto 2000. I made sure that each step i took i changed the sanding direction. It makes it easier to tell when you have sanded enough as the next step ...

The surge tank I got with the engine and I wasn't able to put it anywhere else. But I would say that the surge tank being that far from the exhaust manifold that wouldn't have much of a problem with heat. Additionally I have a couple of XB bonnet vents to keep the engine bay temps a little more cont...

Yeah there is a massive duct which just goes in place of the aircon and it's about the same size as the holes there. Shouldn't be too hard to get one from the wreckers. I had my wiring in the same place before but i've now actually put it through the side rail. There is a rubber plug where you can f...

Here's a pic of the surge tank just fitted in there. Don't look too hard at the photo's cause I haven't had much time at all to do any work and clean up the sigma lately at all. I'll have the fuel pump mounted at the bottom with some brass right angled bends to tidy up the fuel hoses. http://i278.ph...

The system i have at the moment is a carter low pressure fuel pump from the tank to the surge tank and a VL external pump from the surge tank to the fuel rail. I actually fond that i had a similar problem in my GB. I would have the indicators go slower when i had the lights and windscreen wipers on and once i pressed my brake pedal the indicators would stop completely. I found the problem to be the fact that there was no earthing cable from the battery to ...

Re: Sirius 4G62B 1.8T into GK GSR - it begins
I would think the turbo would be pretty obvious considering it's got a massive Nissan on the front of it. Also just so you know the L300 manifold can have a XF throttle body bolt on easily by just opening up the holes a little on the throttle body. Also you need to fill in that groove on the top of ...

The starion 4g63 engines are all wide block. The cordia engines 4g62 and 4g63 DASH engines are definitely all narrow block but a 2L sigma gearbox will bolt up all the same. Thats why the cordia's can have the 4g63 DOHC engines just bolt straight in. All the FWD or AWD 4g6* engines are narrow bolt up...

If this post is about getting a gasket for a twincam 4g32 then it might be best to take a look at hoonboys thread on performance forums.
