Holley manifold
Im just wondering whether it would be worth the trouble of making a 4 barrel manifold. I currently have a standard sigma one ported (PICS). Would it be worth 20-30hp if done correctly? Specs 2 litre, astron 2 head, mpt60 turbo 22psi, 390 holley blow thru. Any ideas would be appreiciated. Thanks. htt...

Re: Granny Sigma Turbo
Bit of an update went to track again last night ran 15.66 @ 108mph on 22psi. Still standard convertor and 3.23 diff, so still slow till 330ft lol. Need 3.7's and a 4500rpm convertor and would probably run low 12's to high 11's. Thanks

Re: Highway rpm gh sigma (convertor slip??)
Yeah the 1c shift kit (or a small washer) made them slightly more positive, before that and the cooler and oil change it would slip ridicously into top under power when hot. Now it goes in nice actually more positive than the 1-2 upshift. 185/75r14 tyres. Thanks

Re: Highway rpm gh sigma (convertor slip??)
Yeah adjusted the bands the other day and shimmed the relief valve up changed oil etc and put a cooler on it. im thinking it may have a 1600 sigma convertor in it or something like what happens with holden 6's and gemini convertors. The oil has stayed clean enough so I think the clutches may be ok, ...

Re: Highway rpm gh sigma (convertor slip??)
The motor and gearbox I assume are factory 100000ks, although it feels like it has a stall (you can stall it up to 2500rpm on the brake easily) but I cant imagine the granny who owned it before me putting a stally in it  . It even feels like it slips when cruising in 2nd, 1000rpm flair. the for...

Highway rpm gh sigma (convertor slip??)
Hi, I have a 1981 gh sigma auto. At 100kph it sits on 3100rpm in top gear. It has a 3.23 diff in it (confirmed by diff tag and physically checking revolutions), 77 inch rollout tyres (24.5 inch diameter). At 100ks it should be on 2750rpm. Ive got an autometer tacho in it so im assuming its pretty ac...

Re: Granny Sigma Turbo
Changed the head to 2.6 one comp was 10.2 (way too high) 7.7 which is more like what I want :D . Re: 2.6 head on 2l
The 2.6 head I have is off a GN so it has got bigger valves. I sat the 2.6 head on the 2 litre with no gasket and opened the inlet valve and it tapped the bore so I had to die grind the bore a lil bit for the valves to clear the bore. http://i966.photobucket.com/albums/ae146/rb3torana/IMG_1202.jpg T...

Re: 2.6 head on 2l
Yeah Id say it would have flat tops as they have 9.5:1 standard and without machining alot off a standard 2l head you wouldnt get that much using dished pistons in a 2l. The 2.6 head I have has a 73cc chamber so it should end up with 7.5:1
. Im just more worried about valve clearances to the bore?

2.6 head on 2l
Can you put a 2.6l head on a 2l. Im looking at doing this to lower the comp in my 2l to around 7.5:1 (which the 2.6 head I have would do that). Are the 2.6l valves bigger? (astron 2 sigma head). If they are would they clear the smaller bore? Thanks

Re: Granny Sigma Turbo
Just an update took it to the drags tonight. Ran 16.85 @98mph on 14psi. 98 mph indicates if it would take off it would probably run 13's and more mph prob around 102-3mph . 3 second 60fts and coming onto boost at 330ft (4000rpm) just doesnt cut it lol. Still standard convertor and gearbox so obvious...

Ive got a turbo cam ground through camtech 238@50 113 lobe seperation. I didnt degree the cam in :$ . Anyways it is in dot to dot correct. As the car is together Ive only check the IVO and EVC on the balancer and the IVO @ 12btdc, EVC @20atdc (at valve with lash correct). Inlet lift atdc 28", e...

Yeah I have got a bw40 aswell but unsure what its like, id say if it stuffs up I'll just wate and build the c4. Im just going to lock the standard dissy up and use the vacum advance directly into the manifold so it has plenty of advance when crusing and as soon as theres a smell of boost its at my l...

Re: Granny Sigma Turbo
Your going to have some issues mate! That BW35 will last about 20 minutes.. so go bloody easy when it's running! Also blowing through a Holley like that wont work unless you equalize the pressure in the float bowls. If you decide to try use more fuel pressure then the floats wont close the needle a...

Re: Granny Sigma Turbo
Yeah I think its gonna be a laggy bitch lol. I'll probably have to turn it to at least 6-6500rpm to make the turbo of any use and who knows how the bottem end and 100000k head gasket is gonna like it
.

Hi, This is my 1980 Sigma. I am the second owner. I brought it from an old lady who owned it from new. It has a little over 100 000 km on it. I am currently putting a T60 Masterpower Turbo on it with a 390 blow through holley. I am going to be using a Carter 72 GPH and a Bosch 044 pump with a Mallor...

yeah not using a stick to fully weld it, only tacking it together with the stick at hme :D . Then migging it up at work. I actualy rang a mate this morning and he said put a divider in it, so thats what ill prob do. The last manifold I did for an rb30 also was twin scroll but the gate was about the ...

Split pulse turbo manifold single wastegate
Im making a manifold for my sigma and I was wondering if by mounting the wastegate right at the flange into the collectors would it cause gas issues? Exhaust gasses travelling through the wastegate pipe and inbetween the scroll instead of straight into the turbo? Or would the gasses go straight into...
