Unusual for the idle screw to fall out - does it have a little coil spring under it? this usually keeps tension on the thread so it stays in place

A couple of suggestions - next time it has been sitting for a day or so, before you attempt a start take the top off the air cleaner and trickle a little fuel in to the carb throat (no more than a teaspoon full) if it fires straight up then you know the problem is fuel related. Next before you start...

At the end of the day you have to put no.1 piston on top dead centre remove the cam and gear from chain, rotate the cam and gear so that no.1 cam lobes are not pushing on no.1 rocker arms/valve gear, and by the way; at this point no.4 should also be at top dead centre with its cam lobes rocking the ...

From what you have said the camshaft is out 180°, if you removed the head then you must have removed the cam from the timing chain. Lost my balls many times over the years !!

Seriously - measure the weight diameter or take it with you to any of the major bearing companies CBC etc.they will sell you a ball or probably even give you one

OK thanks for your info - the chain engine on offer is complete with inlet and exhaust manifold, carb, alternator etc. so if I understand correctly the only issues I may have are exhaust pipe to manifold and possibly carb linkages? What about auto trans connections, would they be the same for belt /...

Hi folks

Owned a few Chrysler products over the years, now I have a GD Galant to play with, so I need a few bits to tidy it up - RH front blinker lense ,possibly Rh fornt guard? as well
