Re: ignition problem in the GE

The ballast resistor is there to drop the voltage which you won't need. If including the ballast resistor is the only thing that's wrong then ur coil should be fine.

Re: Stereo systems

the wagon has some kind of 80's philips system with "high efficiency" 5in door speakers. woot. When i get my diff whine and driveline clunks fixed I have some focal splits i want to fit. I'll probably get a simple head unit - as long as it has green lighting to match the rest of the dashbo...

oh no! it may not be a complete write off. this reminds me of a 1st gen celica i saw once with similar damage. it looked really bad but it was a glancing blow across the front like yours so it was mainly just panel damage and the body was still straight. i saw it driving around a couple of weeks lat...

Re: tubbys GN panel van project

Unless you're going for a full tilt JDM look, I'd stick with door mirrors. I'd be curious to see your panel-van with fender mirrors but i would personally stick with GE door mirrors. Most noteworthy panelvans were local chryslers, holdens and fords -fender mirrors might confuse the overall theme of ...

PmHeard that too. Makes sense if u consider the existing horse theme with the 'colt'.
Also consider 'other spelling errors around same time like donkey Kong' was meant to be 'monkey Kong' and it doesn't seem so far fetched.

Re: Carby starting troubles.

do the GC carbs require you to pump the throttle before turning over? maybe experiment with 2 or more throttle pumps before starting when cold and see what works best? For my old sigma wagon, i'd have to pump the sh!t out of the accelerator when turning over for it to start -but my new one is comple...

man, this whole powerchip episode is so epic, it'll be years before a new 'Besanko' will emerge, capable of inspiring so much universal loathing. I suggest the unit for measuring pwnage should be the 'Besanko' (BKo). Of course due to the massive amounts a pwnage Wayne Besanko has endured, most pwnag...

yep that's hawwt. How long have you had this car for?
Just looking at 1884's SE the other day- he has the underbonnet sound deadening and also something similar along the whole firewall. Did the NZ SE models not get that (perhaps later models)?

Towards the end of this shape they actually ran a 4G54, lol. I have seen one and would lay bets that most of the front suspension is Sigma..
i wonder if the later ones used a diff from the standard parts bin or something more special?

BTW the GE sedan bumpers seem to be about two inches wider than the wagons, go figure. the sedan one will do for now with a few mods.
The front bumpers should be the identical, unless those black end caps have been bent outwards or something?
