Re: Astron 1850, Sigma GL Wagon 1980
Hi Matty Firstly, does anyone know if cooling issues were a problem with this motor (Astron 1850, 4G51) ? Does anyone know some of the common problems with this motor? No, there's no particular cooling problems with any of the Astron engines. Common problems can be a noisy timing chain from worn gui...

Re: questions galant
Hi Gnever, The sedans changed from about 1981 or 1982 depending which country you are from. None of the panels from a 1979 Galant will fit a 1982 Galant sedan . However the wagon platform stayed the same all the way through until 1984 (1986 in Australia). This means: All wagon panels are basically i...

yep, she's looking great  Any plans of putting some pinstriping back on? i know a lot of people get rid of the pinstriping after a respray but i think it can make a car look a bit incomplete. I reckon even a very subtle one can really finish off a car especially if you are going the sleepe...

Re: efi problems(headaches)
If your cranking is slow and your battery discharged overnight, you might have a short somewhere. Try disconnecting the earth from your battery, set your multimeter to measure Amps and measure how much current drain you are getting from negative terminal to ground. Should be less than 50mA (or 0.05 ...

Welcome to the site Eagle 321, I love the pics of your old rally 'colt'. Brilliant. Good to hear that you are trying to save and restore a '76 coupe. The site isn't as busy as it used to be so it might take time to get replies to all your questions but in the meantime thankfully there's a lot of goo...

I had the same symptoms with my 4G52 a few years back- turned out to be the plug where the distributor wires come out and plug into the electrical system. It was super annoying because it was intermittent and was happening often enough that I couldn't trust the car. Ended up finding it by simply let...

If the autochoke is disconnected or not working properly, the engine won't idle on its' own without blipping the throttle until it has warmed up.
