Nup I have a g54b and it is chain driven, I believe there are a few minor differences between 4g54 and g54b but can't recall what.
if you can find a starion block (US or jap) they have oil squirter's which sigma don't.

Re: Where to get pistons?
Magna has both high and low comp pistons Astron1 dished, Astron2 flat tops. For turbo in an astron2 essentially just use Astron1 slugs. The ones I bought from FM are dished with the higher deck. I have them in an import Starion engine, standard Starion compression is 7/1 which I think is about what ...

Re: Where to get pistons?
If you want to buy locally just buy magna ones Federal mogul make a hyper job, they are also available with a 1mm taller deck height to lift the compression ratio a little, by my maths it takes it from 7.0/1 to 7.6/1. From all reports crank and rods are not really necessary, stockies are good for 30...

Could that be it?

Re: efi and delco help
I started to use just that setup on my 2.6 starion but never got around to finishing it, the motor is going in my siggy standard until a later date. My plan is Magna manifold, Optical dizzy from express van or sonata, VN throttle body, and Camira Delco computer, the entire setup cost me $300 from a ...

Re: 4g63t starion engine into triton?
4g54t and 4g63t in starions both rated at the same HP. I have/had Starions with both, the 54 has far better torque
and since you are wanting to put it in a 4x4 I would suggest the 54 with a turbo, everything you need is easily sourced
from the US.

What did they pick the belts up for?
If they are frayed just get a lighter and burn off the frayed bits.
I have done this many times and never had a problem.

Re: Starion/Sapparo Automatic?
Wide block pattern 4speed Jatco N471b, same as VL turbo.
Keas can mod these to take 500+rwkw so yes it will handle a turbo.
All aussie Satrions were manual so these auto's are rare in OZ, WANT ONE?

Re: 2.6 wide block auto
I have a starion auto if you are interested.
I'm pretty sure these were also used in the VL turbo and aftermarket stuff like shift kits are readily available.
Pick up in Bendigo. $150 and it's yours,
Last time I drove the car the auto was faultless, the engine was removed and fitted to my GK GSR.

Ride: JA starion, GK GSR Turbo (Autocross car almost finished)
Location Bendigo.
Macedon sounds like a good idea to me.
I would suggest a meet point at Calder park/taylors lakes.

Re: what wheels will fit my sig??
offset I believe is 18-20, anything you find that is multifit will be 99% no good nearly always FWD. Don't forget the centre bore diameter either, mits is 63.1mm (someone confirm please) it is ok if you find bigger as hub rings to sort this issue out are easily available from tyre shops in whatever ...

Re: GJ Sigma To Rally?
I would seriously suggest getting the scrap man to give you some $$ for the Sigma and add a few extra $$ yourself and buy something smaller that runs. FWD, RWD isn't a biggie - but I do think RWD is more fun. Good point GAZ, KE30 corolla's would be pretty cheap nowdays surely, Had a couple of them ...

Re: GJ Sigma To Rally?
I'm doing a GK GSR at the moment mainly due to scoring two freebies, one of which was my old road car a few years ago and having a motor from a US import starion sitting around doing not much. Is yours power steering? Thinking yes since it is a super saloon. I had PS on my old road car a while ago a...

Re: Anyone used a 4G93T or P DOHC?
I've never had a 4g93 so can't really comment on how good they are. Don't get me wrong I'd be very happy with 180kw at the wheels from my 4g63 or 4g54 (speaking of heavy) And I'm with you guy's as well that power isn't everyrthing, plenty to be said for balance as well. 4g63 definitely handles bette...

Re: Anyone used a 4G93T or P DOHC?
The 93 and 63 are the same bell housing so the box will fit the same as the 63 yeah fair enough on the stronger engine comment but the 93 is still a good engine im on an evo forum aswell and most boys are making 180 awkw with a 93t and stock internals which isnt a bad power level at all!!! consider...

Re: Hey, V8 Lexus Galant Build, Hope You Like
what other small V8s are there?? Toyota 1uz-fe (4.0L) the 253 Buick 215 (rover 3.5l) andd is that it? I wouldn't call the 253 a small V8 fair enough it is small capacity, and a great little engine too. But physically it is a bigger engine than a small block chev or windsor. I was considering Rover ...
