I reckon it would look great painted Mits Riviera Blue pearl . The code is FX. that is the colour that I painted stretchs' celica. What's it originally off? The colour does look good. I still have a pic of it somewhere? Dave... I am pretty sure that it was from a 1987 Magna Elite. I had one in the ...

Re: What paint type should I use
While on the subject, I have heard about people using a acrylic colour and blowing a 2pac clear over the top. Is this possable? Wouldn't the two different paints react? Not a wise practice Jason,as the 2K clear dries hard ,whereas the acrylic moves with temperature variations. This makes for some ve...

I can say that he would rather sell his mother than that galant.

It is one that I am restoring for him after I finish 3 of his Valiants.

This might help you a lot. An online manual for ALL 4G63 and engine variants.
I found it more than useful when doing my '63 16v SOHC.

Re: Sirius 4G62B 1.8T into GK GSR - it begins
In terms of the cooling issues, I never really found a solution. On a 30degree day with prolonged boost or even mild boost up a hill etc saw it creap up in the mid nineties and get close to 100. As soon as I was off boost or downhill, the temp would fly down. I have had a similar problem with the 4G...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine
Yeah Roger The extractors done by Precinct were an exact copy of the ones that were fitted to the GSR that Mike bought from Bruce Cheeseman. They had a split in one of the primary pipes, and as Precinct was literally over the back fence from Gosford Dyno, the boys ran a set up one night ,swapped them ...

4g63 and 4g64 interchangeability
Looks like my 4G63 in the HJ galant is dying. had alook at a local wreckers and he has a Nimbus 4G64 (2.4 litre) in it for a fair price. Is this engine a straight swap,or will there be some general ballsing around? They are both 16valve ,SOHC engines.

Re: Pine Resin :(
I realise that this is an old thread, but hot water will soften the pine resin enough to scrape the main part off with an old credit card or similar.
Wax and grease remover (Prepsol etc.)should get the remainder off.
Xylene is a solvent,so stay clear of it.

Galant auto problem
I have a ' 93 HJ Galant hatch with a 4g63 and auto.
Problem is that when Overdrive is selected, there is no drive in 4th gear.
With O/D not selected,it drives really well, shifts nicely wityh no slippage.
Has anyone any ideas as to what may be the problem?

Re: Duratec and S2000 conversions
A YB Cosworth (Sierra) engine would be a nice transplant. 300 hp is not a realistic figure to chase. Also , the dream ford engine would be a Csworth BDG. They were getting 275 hp out of the aussie works Escort rally cars in 1979 on carbs.
