Re: BAD-SIG - my 1979 Sigma SE...

I've decided to transform my GE Sigma SE to Jap-spec look, so I'm now searching for: the front guard mounted rear view mirrors, rear quarter panel "Galant Sigma" badges and rear number plate light fixture/bezel with the word "Galant" on it. Here are the photos of what I'm after: ...

My GE Sigma had a 2 1/4 inch exhaust fitted the same way as the photos above and the axle only used to touch the exhaust on big bumps, my springs were stock and very soft!

Re: GE sigma auto gearbox

GE Sigmas came with two different auto 3spd tranmitions. Most have a Borgwarner 3spd. A very similar thing happend to my 1979 GE Sigma 2000 SE years ago, where the car would drive forward fine but had no reverse. I took it to an auto trans specialist and I remember him saying something about the mai...

It's all about physics and weight transfer. What I was trying to say is that when drag racing, a wide rear tyre does improve grip and traction even if the rear of the car is light due to wheight transfer...

Re: Gsr peeper pots

Well you get bags of grip on the rear but if your front tyres aren't as wide asthe rear ones, it means you'll have more understeer. If you prefer to have oversteer, keep your rear tyres the same size or one size bigger than the front ones (205/50R15 front and 215/50R15 rear for example). That is unl...

Re: Gsr peeper pots

You need 50 series tyres on the front, not 55. As far as the rear goes, with the right offset and tyre profile, the maximum tyre width you'll be able to fir on a GE or GH Sigma is 265.

Re: Gsr peeper pots

Make sure you take your car to a suspension specialist to check out if your front struts are bent. My GE Sigma (with GH front struts and brakes) had bent front struts and once I got them straightened out the 205/50R15 tyres didn't rub at all on the struts when fitted to my polished GSR Pepperpots......

Re: VIOL8R rotary Sigma... need more info and pics please!!

If you want something different then fit a GE Scorpion front to your Sigma! There used to be a metalic green GH Sigma wagon in Dandenong (Vic) with polished GK GSR mags and a GE Scorp front grafted on! It looked awesome. I wish I took photos of it, this was about 3 years ago, I used to see this car ...

Re: VIOL8R rotary Sigma... need more info and pics please!!

On this particular case it's because this car is a GH Sigma but has a GE Sigma front and rear bumpers. Otherwise, you can simply modify the mounting holes on the bumper brackets so the brackets go further in which in turn makes the bumpers sit further in closer to the body. One thing I plan to do to...

Re: Fibreglass Front doors on a sig.

I just started a full ground-up rebuild of my GE Sigma and since I need replacement front guards due to the big rust holes, I thoughtI'd look into getting fibreglass replacements made. And might as well get bonnet and boot lid done too! But I guess the front guards might be tricky to replicate in fi...

Re: Is it work getting this?

About 3 years ago I bought a GE Sigma GL in very similar condition to the one you described through Ebay for only $250, but it was unregistered. $100 later and it was registered, not including registration fees. I still regret selling the car... I should've kept it!
