Re: V6 Scorpion

Look what I found! Apparently it's to fit two Stromberg carbies onto a 6G72 for Sprintcar racing!

Re: V6 Scorpion

Humm, interesting, apparently the ignition control modules are all separate to the ECU, this will be fun to wire up!

Re: V6 Scorpion

I was so excited about this engine swap I could hardly sleep last night! But I think I've hit a bit of a snag. Do any of the 6G72 engines have the ignition module built into the distribuitor or is it all built into the ECU? The problem is if the dizzy is run by the ECU, how am I going to run it if I...

Re: V6 Scorpion

Ok, it's been a while between drinks sorta speak. I'm seriously thinking about a RWD 6G72 conversion now, but I'm going to do two different things: use a Ford C4 auto (using a Bill Hincher bell housing) and convert the engine from MPFi to a 350 Holey carb! My inspiration for the carby idea comes fro...

I'm very keen on one of these 6G72 RWD C4 auto bell housings. I have left you a PM :)

Hi Bill, any news on the 6G72 bell housing? I'm very keen in fitting a 6G72 to my car, but I would rather fit a C4 or other automatic transmission. Could you please help me?

Re: V6 into sigma

Well since my old original 2 litre engine is simply not powerful enough, I'm seriously considering fitting a 6G72 with a 350 Holley carby and auto trans. Does anyone know if the 2WD V6 Tritons ever came out with a 2WD auto trans? And do the Pajero and Triton V6 4WD auto transmissions have a bell hou...

Re: Ge astron 1979 4g52 power upgrade? Help

Hi Abaddon, have a look at my blog, I'm slowly improving my stock 2 litre 1978 Sigma SE 3speed auto! The engine so far is stock internally, but to take advantage of the standard high compression ratio (9.5:1), I installed twin Solex carbies and a mild Crow cam. The car feels much more lively and pul...

Re: Can an Astron 2 litre block be bored and stroked to 2.6?

Ok, after some research, I found some more info from my workshop manuals, Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Astron_engine ) and Sigma Turbo Register ( http://www.sigmaturbo.com/Specifications.htm ). The four Astron engines we will be looking at today are: 4G51, 4G52 (and G52B), 4G5...

Can an Astron 2 litre block be bored and stroked to 2.6?

Can an Astron 2 litre block be bored and stroked to 2.6? Stroking should be easy just by fitting a 2.6 crank i think, but can it be bored out to 2.6 or more? Are 2 litre Astron blocks the same as 2.6 ones but with more meat between the cylinders on the 2 litre ones? I decided to keep the original As...

Re: BAD-SIG - my 1979 Sigma SE...

That's right, this is the one, but now im thinking it's in such good condition that i might just modify the stock parts and pull the engine apart and bore and stroke it to 2.6 but up the compression to at least 10:1 and work the head too. I already have a nice high-flo 2 and 1/4 inch exhaust with ex...

Ok, checked the timing, car was pretty hard to start, but once started it coughed and complained a bit and then started reving properly but still wouldn't idle. I kept it running and above 2000rpm so it wouldn't stall and also so the head-gasket would cook properly and after 5 minutes at 2000rpm it ...

If the distribuitors are different, use the original one from your car. I had ignition wiring issues when I fitted a big block GN Sigma 2.6 to my humble little GE Sigma (originally a narrow 2 litre).
