Re: Phils GA Galant

The work has continued at its slow and steady pace. Not much coin to put into it, until i get back from holidays in july. Continued cleaning the engine bay today, decided to take the gearbox out and degrease it also. Always nice to see some nice metal under 40 years of mud and grease. http://i969.ph...

Re: New to Galants and have a few questions??

I've found the most common problem with the horn can be the contacts in the steering wheel.
Take it off and give the contacts a clean/sand.

Re: Phils GA Galant

Started degreasing the engine bay today and was suprised (for the most part) how good the paint comes up. I dont think i will have to re-paint the whole engine bay. There is some fairly extensive surface rust under the battery box though: http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/philb_bucket/a05bb42...

Re: Interested in Restoring to original factory condition

Hey there,

Very nice looking ride, it's a GB though.

Love the red/black interior, what's with the different coloured drivers seat?

Search the site, there are some threads on factory brochures which show the range of factory colours they came in.

Re: Phils GA Galant

Glad to see progress with this Phil. You've been quiet of late... Yeah i have been flat out with work and busy on the weekends. Just a tip Phil ..... those small filters are probably too restrictive to connect direct to the breather - too much pressure buildup. You would be better off running the b...

Re: Phils GA Galant

Finally had some time to do some work yesterday. Pulled the motor out, starting to clean and prep the engine bay to re-paint it. Just going with the original blue colour. I'd been wanting to get the motor out for a long time. http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/philb_bucket/b34f3221.jpg motor i...

It's out of a 'GS' model galant (we didn't get them in aust)

Straight bolt in, some fiddling with the wiring for the tacho.

Re: Phils GA Galant

So the progress is starting again! Recently sold my spare GA. Had to finally give in and realise I don't have room for 3 cars. The galant is now off the road. My plans are replace knackered 1300 with the 1600 I have. Goin to strip down the 1600 and check whats in it and maybe put a small amount of $...

IMO the superlites dont have enough offset and the others have too much. The superlites look way better though.

We all know that you'll make the car look good Dave. I think this one should have some guts too...2.6?

Re: Sigma GK GSR daily - project SC14

I'd double check the timing.
Spray some starter spray and test for a vacuum leak on the intake.
Then do a compression test.

Re: hey guys im trying to find a suitable front spring for my GA

Mate I got king springs for my GA. Theyre listed from memory and are the same listing as fr a daewoo something. I'm happy with the ride height, not super low. however the springs are stiff and aren't seated when the car is jacked up

That must be one of the first gb's. My 2nd GA is a 72 and has the same interior. Yours also has the mph dash which is weird cause my 72 ga has kph.

Looks like a good find!

Welcome to the site!

Looks like you've got a bit of work ahead of you, but it's nice to see another GA out there.

Are you keeping the Saturn motor in it? You might struggle against the skyline lol
