does anyone know if GK sedan and GJ sedan lowered springs are the same.. i know there were some differences between scorpions or something.. but i'm not sure about sigma sedans..

its strange that my turbo dizzy dosn't work.. and i cant find the original dizzy from the original silvia that was turboed and done properly to suit. i think i gave it away with my red scorpion when i sold it..

hey guys. i've had issues EFIing silvia. i was going to use the dizzy out of jet as i knew it was good to run boost.. the vacume advance was just blocked off..
can i do a similar thing with my current dizzy to get it to run boost? or will i have problems?

SILVIA HAS EFI!! it runs.. dont know why or how.. but fiddleing with things.. used a dizzy i had used before and a coil i had used before and i was getting spark suddenly and12 volts at coil and the ballast wasn't cooking itself. still no start, changed timing over and over again, re installing diz...

ok so just tested the ballast again and it is getting 12 volts go in and only 7 go out which is what the coil is getting.. so we are going to by pass the ballast for now to see if it is the problem

ok. so i'm getting a fume smell come from the exhaust.. so i'm assuming fuel.... just had ignition on after plugging back in the control unit and the ballast was scolding hot within a few minutes... to the point where my finger hissed as i touched it lol.. my finger must have had some rain water on ...

the ballast is getting 12 volts go in and 12 volts going out :) so that is good.. the control unit is getting 12 volts at the 3 points it needs it as it says in the workshop manual.. the 3 earth points i dont know how to test as i dont know who to test OHms or resistance.. the ECU does control the f...

the coil i'm using is the factory coil that was running with the factory ballast the last 33 years.. so it is ment to run with it.. and the over heating issue. i just have the key turned to ignition, not start. so i'm not trying to start the car... so it couldn't be a spark plug. thats why i'm sayin...

i dont know if there is something wrong with that or not.. they are over heating.. that is one prob i cant figure out why.. and the other is that the coil is only getting 6 volts.. i mean if you sit in a car park with the ignition on listening to music for example, the coil shouldn't fry like it is....

its all standard GE sedan setup..
i just put it back to normal and left the ignition on and the coil and ballast was frying agian.. and still only 6 volts..
as i said, coild i have fried something by putting the wries from the dizzy on the coil wrong? i am terrible with ignition stuff...

Also, the 'ignition ballast' is extremely hot too.. looked up what it was in the GE manual...

Oh, for more info, i also swapped from the standard GE head to a M4 Magna head.. if that changes anything???
the Digi is good as it was out of JET 51G and ran fine.. the distributor i tried was out of JET too and so was the second coil...

ok. time for an update. Silvia is being too dam reliable so time to treat her to some mods in the form of EFI and a T04 turbo drove silvia down from the gold coast yesterday. 850kms completely fault free. I will only be running a microtech digi.. simple and extremely easy to install and get running....

yeah, i remember it was lol. i had to get my block sent away!! it cost $400 to $500 to get it done! the next time i rebuilt the engine i got myself a shalf eliminator kit for like $67 lol.

did you check the balance shaft bearings?? that was what caused probs in my scorp and one of the reasons i rebuilt the motor. .

ok. so i worked out that the hole for the shifter is a different size. so there's one slight issue. and also the holes for the gearbox cross member are different. so doing a manual conversion is a pain in the butt! the auto and manual CARS are different. its not a bolt over job like i though. :( loo...

hey guys. . got the manual gearbox all bolted in the ge sigma today only to find the gearbox mounts/cross member holes dont line up with the chassi holes. . is there anything i can do about this? i have looked at using the auto cross member, but it wont work. .

ok, well i'm pretty drunk know. . not much of a life hey hahaha. checking facebook and sigma galant at 2:34 AM hahha i now have a sigma GE SE i picked up today for $500. a jap box manual one with jap diff and 106,000kms with lots of options including aircon :D , so can cross reference stuff to that....

electric wires on an auto
hi guys. does anyone know what the electric wires are going to a plug on the automatic gearbox in a GE sigma??they obviously dont go into the manual, so i'm thinking of removing them as they have a plug just on the back of the fire wall and i can remove them from there. .

ah yes, i see. so the bit behind the valve obviously wouldn't change the comp at all, but it would improve air flow. . and i see where you removed the bit around the valve too gives me a good idea wher eto start
