The Saturns in the Gk's were belt drive, same as the Colts. The RAA Driving School had these as their instructors cars. Didn't have a lot of go,but great for learners.

Re: Chrome Pepper Pot wheels??
I spoke to a chrome plater at a car show a week or so ago. he reckons polish them then chrome plate them. The better the base the better the chrome plate comes out. Mine are aready polished but have some gutter rash that needs repairing first. Chrome plated wheels will be easier to look after once i...

Re: Compression ratios
having said what I did,I have heard of people getting away with it. The engine in my car runs magna pistons and did have an astron on head. Valves were heavily recessed. However, the pitons in mine don't reach the top of the bore so I suspect some skullduggery with the crank. Most magna pistons usual...

Re: Compression ratios
Its 8.2:1 for the Astron 1 and 8.8:1 for the Astron 2. TR Magna Astron engine was 9.2:1. The Astron2 detbued in the GK around May 1985. Had a couple of GK wagons with astron 2s. Don't try putting the flat tops from the later engines into the early ones as the pistons will hit the cylinder head.

Re: Are Twin Carby's Worth It?
One thing no ones mentioned here, but very important, is the kick down linkage to the trans. Unless you want to manual shift your tranny ALL the time, you'll need to fabricate a linkage for the kickdown to work. Twin Carby or EFI,some fab work will be needed.

Some very groovy stuff there. Now only if we could convince HKS to actually make available the 2.6 liter DOHC head they developed!

Mine had the same self centering problem, replaced the steering box and it improved. The PWR STR in mine goes away when I give it a big rev. That would be in the pump.

Re: Best Pump Fuel???
Prefer Ultimate 98 for the GSR,run our TE V6 Magna wagon on regular unleaded. Wouldn't use ethano; blended fuels on either because they're alcohol based. Methanol corrodes metal. Don't see why ethanol would be any different.

My first one was a GJ wagon that I bought because I needed a car. The second one I bought off the side of the road, the black GK GSR I drive now.

I have an Aoshima model kit in 1/24 scale. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10051113 The kit is rubbish, but its the only kit I've been able to find. The pic on the box shows a JDM car but the kit represents a car like the one one of our south american friends posted pics of. Has body coloured bumpers with ...

Re: What is the Ideal/Maximum size tyre for turbo rims?
185 is the minimum legal size and 235 is the maximum legal size on a 6 inch wide rim which is what those turbo rims are,I believe. 185 will give the best handling because it will have a straight, stiff sidewall,so no flex. 235's look awesome but don't handle as well due to sidewall flex. 195/60 was t...

Sigma box should drop straight into a scorpion.I'm using a scorpion PWR STR box in my Sigma,so things should fit the other way as well.

I worked at Mitsubishi factory and that car turned up in the engineering holding yard a year or so before we shut down. Its a right pile of junk. It had an N/A 2.0,and the body kit was as rough as. Also it was very heavy. I spoke to one of the guys involved in its build and there is as much bog as a...

Re: Nissian Silvia s13 radiator fitted to my GJ Siggy
Nice ly done with that radiator mate. Those fans fit perfect. Fit better than the Davies craig fan does. They don't clear the water pump and don't keep the engine cool either. Another way of piping the water from the back is with a modified pipe from a VN Commodore. The early ones piped the water fr...
