Will these later model sigma parts fit a GH??
Firstly i will apologise straight away for asking this when im sure the information is somewhere on here or the archived board. Although its pretty specific and a quick search didn't come up with much of anything useful. Basically these are the things i want for the GH (which has an astron 1 2.6 bw ...

Re: After the NSW Cruise i have realised its time to upgrade!
The next step would be to decide on whether or not i should either A) Keep my wide block Astron 1 which is at full compression (185 psi all round .. 180.. something like that) with balance shaft removal kit and new headgasket. And just change the pistons to magna ones. or B) If i have to get an Astr...

Re: After the NSW Cruise i have realised its time to upgrade!

Re: After the NSW Cruise i have realised its time to upgrade!
It makes it hard when i have never actually been in another astron besides my current car and my previous 2.0 auto GH :$ I have sat and revved a TR auto at idle ha ha.. exciting stuff that was :P I guess i could always take the sensible approach and tinker with an astron 2 and convert it to RWD EFI ...

After the NSW Cruise i have realised its time to upgrade!
After driving to Newcastle from Sydney (GH, Astron 1 2.6, 34ADM, BW 5 speed) i have come to realise that she LOVES petrol. I keep reading that Astron's are known for their alcoholism although this is why i chose a 4 cylinder in the first place. Then again it is a 28 year old engine/car combination s...

Me and my angle grinder are like *THIS* son! Re: "Is that smell coming from you car? NAH" .....Was the Clutch
Ta man, so do i :) Suddenly it has given me inspiration to do things to her while the engine is out. On a more realistic note lol I rang repco and apparently there are 2 release bearings for the gearboxes. Im assuming its for teh B/W and the Jap box. Anyway he said one was $28 and the other was $71!...

Haha i read about that happening. Its kind of funny though, because that was THE hardest part we had to tackle when we were getting the engine and gearbox out on the weekend!! No matter how hard we tried we could NOT undo that plastic securing nut evil satanic thing. We made double sure that it wasn...

Re: "Is that smell coming from you car? NAH" .....Was the Clutch
I was just reading the Gregories and it says i will need to get the release bearing pressed on. I don't even have a vice to get teh bastard off  Seems like it will be staying on there untill i take the motor out and fit the magna pistons and jap 5 speed. So far i have bought an Exedy Clutch and...

Re: "Is that smell coming from you car? NAH" .....Was the Clutch
Hey all :P I pulled the clutch out today with the help of a mate and have taken some pics of the clutch plate, pressure plate and flywheel. The clutch disc is worn out pretty bad and the pressure plate has bent tangs and it looks like the release bearing has been ground into the tangs :S Anyway you ...

Re: Should i find a Jap 5 Speed?? Convince me!! :P
Hmmm how hard are they to find and which models were they fitted to? Oh and how much do wreckers usually sell them for? I am going to have to pull the engine out again to fit the magna pistons so even if i leave teh BW in today i can grab one later on.

Thats what i was thinking. I had hard enogh time trying to fit a FWD manual gearbox to a 3sge while it was out of the car. I can only imagine how muc effort it would be UNDER the car. Looks like ill be pulling the engine apart while im at it to fit the magna pistons. I'm not going through all of thi...
