Re: floppy timing chain!!!!
The alternative of a drilled sprocket is cheaper and more durable as the mounting bolt and dowel on the cam are the only things keeping it from moving (I'm pretty sure you can still get them). Just like these ones http://imageshack.us/a/img391/1853/camgear2.jpg these are the gears I redrill , quite...

Re: Roller rockers on non-roller cam??
Do you have more details on fitting inserts? I like the Porsche lashes and are cheap.mic_77 wrote:Both profiles are very different best way is to use a roller cam with roller rocker gear but remove the hydraulic adjusters fit inserts and run Porsche (mahle) lash adjusters just my opinion.

Re: Roller rockers on non-roller cam??
I was hoping to go the same path. My machinist currently has my head. M6 mild port, double valve springs, roller rockers and hydraulic lifters. He sent a new cam away to Crow to be reground to suit turbo with roller rockers. Will see how it looks when I take delivery later this week.

Re: New 4G54 Turbo EFI build for Siggy
Its a Hybrid T3 ebay item 251320003752. I cant find the GT30 internal gate I was looking at. Or its not too late to modify the custom manifold and use an external gate like ebay item 121209924344. I don't want a turbo too big its laggy nor a turbo too small it will choke under 6500rpm. The work done...

Re: New 4G54 Turbo EFI build for Siggy
Now looking at turbo's and have a choice of 2. The GT30 and the Hybrid T3. The GT30 has compressor .70 and turbine .63, and Hybrid T3 has compressor .50 and turbine .63. Whats the effect on compressor size and which one will spool quicker

Awsome work you have done. I'm guessing by several part numbers there are varying thicknesses. Just now need to cc the head and choose the right one. I'll call Aaron Monday and have a chat.
Much appreciated Cheers

Re: New 4G54 Turbo EFI build for Siggy
Thanks all for the advise T28 will run out of puff early in the rev range but would be great down low gt30 would be nicer IMO. Better off with a xf throttle body but not necessary. Camshaft talk to camtech. I was given 2 turbos T28 from a mate in a shed cleanout. If too small I could upgrade later. ...

Thanks for the reply
I use MMC gearboxes. Borg warner not suitable as I use reverse to 1st change reguarly.
Does the 5mm difference between the block and flywheel effect the starter throw out? or can I put a 5mm spacer in there?
Cheers

Starion Flywheel on Astron 2
Evening all I am looking into fitting a Starion Flywheel onto Astron 2 wide block. These flywheels are 7kg lighter than sigma. The questions I have are : Starion 4g63 uses a harmonic balancer. Do I need to use this with the starion Flywheel? The starion clutchplate is slightly smaller than sigma, th...

Re: "Is that smell coming from you car? NAH" .....Was the Clutch
Unless you have a pit or hoist, use the engine crane and pull it all out and split the gearbox on the floor. Only use a new standard clutch for replacement, they are good for standard street use. I still use them in very stressfull race days.

Changing front springs and shocks is as easy as changing ya jocks. Just need spring compressors and some tools. You have done good yourself so far and should be capable.
