Re: Lift Pumps

I'll find the carter model for you. I normally use a Holley red for a lift pump and a holley blue with a reg for anything big HP carbie fed. If I had a spare pump I would have offered it. I don't have a spare. The race car is has a cell in it and the roadie just has a standard tank. I'd think LA/B/C...

Re: Lift Pumps

I generally us the carter pumps in a street car as they are nice and quiet and holley's in the race cars for lift pumps. 044 shouldn't be that noisey make sure you have the rubber insulation fitted around it in the clamp. That will make a huge difference. Putting photo's up is to much drama on this ...

Re: Sydney meet

195kw and 4.44 diffs make them quick off the line, but they start to run out of puff at about 120kph. I have seen consistant 195kph trap speeds on a standing 1000m sprint.

Having said that, my old $5000.00 Gen3 VX Calais would chew it up and spit it out on a 100+kph rolling start!

Re: Sydney meet

A lot of other forums/car clubs use Macca's at McGrath's hill as a start point for a lot of there cruises, rather than Penrith. It cuts out the dickhead factor and its doesn't get a lot of attention from the boys in blue. It also gives you good access to the mountains, wisemans, putty road, etc......

Re: VR4 into LC lancer?

In the EVO4 onward they turned the engine and gearbox around 180 degrees in the engine bay compared to the EVO123. I also believe that the EVO4 onwards 4G63's don't have the RWD engine mounts on either side of the block, which is why you don't see them being used in RWD applications.

The reason you run sigma struts is the bigger availbility of shock and much bigger wheel bearings than the lancer struts. Oh, and PM sent..... I'm building a LC coupe as a tarmac rally car and a fair bit further into the build than you are. There are a few of us here that have been racing them for a...

We used the Scorpion cables for the handbrake and they work fine. Scorpion or Starion master cylinders do the job nicely for the disc brake conversion and bolt straight onto the booster. I see the front section of your leaf spring have that lovely wave shape they form from a bit of axle tramp. I use...

The evo will have had a section of the floor raised to lift the exhaust up higher to fit a flat floor/undertray to the car for aerodynamic purposes. The duct in the side window (most race cars have them these days) will feed fresh air to either the drivers cool suit icebox or directly at him. You sh...

Why didn't you just put the fuel pump under the car???????? Then you don't need a cage over it for rego! With the way its currently set up, your in for some drama's.......... Lexus 4lt V8 with a toyota 5 speed on the back of it.............

Regardless, you'll have to convert the steering to a rack and pinion set up, as you'll never get the headers past the steeering box.

Correct! The LA has smaller strut towers.

Complete LB/C, GH, etc..... struts will not fit in an LA without swapping spring seats from the LA strut to the choosen strut of your choice.

Axle tramp is fixed with a pair of upper arms facing rearward, so you don't cut into the floor and a set of decent adjustable shocks. Scorpion/mazda 929/bluebird/etc...... diff is plenty to widen the rear track, about 100mm from memory. But you will need flares with those offset wheels. Panhard rod is...
