My LA Lancer beast, 13B Turbo..pics

Post by slimer »

After years of searching to find a good la lancer (to do up as a replica from one we had years ago) its finally over, found a good one owner then a few months later BANG our old one is up for sale.

Drove over 1000k's to pick her up, Fully engineered for a 13B Turbo.

NEVER ever selling it, SOOOOO lucky to have won it on ebay being the only bidder.

Was a few things still on it from when we had it, (over 7 years ago)...was a spin out..

Here is a pick of me picking it up..

Will be posting more when i get a chance

SOOO HAPPY...

yes...not from a young bloke who just got his certificate either...from someone who has been doing it for over 40yrs.

I thought the engineering papers (In NSW) only covered the 13B n/a conversion. I am simply amazed that you got a mod plate for it here. Please PM me details so I can finalise the mod plate on my LA.

This car has been through more hands than any other car I know. You can get on just about any random car forum and someone has owned it or been for a ride at some stage in the last 10 years.
I remember the original for sale ad by the builder - it was $10-12K from memory.

Post up the link to the expired ebay ad too. I'm amazed that I didn't see it.

Yes it was only engineered for the 13B when we used to own it but then was engineered again for the turbo/wheels/front mount intercooler in 2004 in n.s.w

Im so happy.

There is an LA Lancer for sale on ebay at the moment, but its in victoria, if it were in brisbane i would buy it just for parts...looks good. only $300 too.

ill try find the ebay link..i cant remember the pasword or the username..lol..i dont use it much..lol

I think you were lucky that you actually found the lancer on eBay. The description definitely worked in your favour for no one else finding it unless they went through all listings which listed lancers. It looks as though the seller thought he'd be able to sell the car by listing it by the engine and not the car. Good work getting your car back though.

yeh im so happy, need to modify the turbo manifold (its hitting the chassis) and modify the dump pipe (as you cant steer right only left...the arm hits the pipe)

not a big job as i have pulled the engine out and re done the tunnel (was so dodgy) the passenger side gearbox bolts had spanned away (couldnt tell from looking at it) so glad i did pull the motor out otherwise i wouldnt have seen it.

It does have the supra gearbox but has standard diff (might have the LC insides though) but same housings.

i got some more pics to post up too.

I sand blasted some engine parts and re painted them...
i cleaned the engine with a rag (wasnt too bad) and only to realise the whole motor is actually painted in yellow...(weird) must be a different engine to what we had in it.

everything else on it is good.
(havent driven it yet though...lol)

The crappy ebay description is why you got it cheap.

Good to see the horrible grey fleck engine bay is gone!
Glad that it went to a good home and not someone who only wants the bits.

Does anyone know what the wheels are?..lol..the simmons B45's actually have lots of them bolts around the rim like the V4's and many others have, i have no idea what these ones are ( i actually like them without the bolts)..unless simmons made them with just the star shape centers)..

it was listed in the cars section, all i did to find it was either searched la lancer or 13B (cant remember which one i searched).

But yes, happy to have it back, i thought years ago it was probably pulled apart and neglected. i got the injectors cleaned today, lucky i did them one was rooted.

She looks good again mate. Poor car had a hard life since I sold it, I'm glad someone's got it that is giving it some love!

It needs the simmons back on it though, I'm struggling with those ones on it unfortunately.
