Sorry for the overdue update. The old girl made it to the winton fun day!

On the most part all went well. The stock brakes where useless as expected and the stock diff and gearbox
had to be looked after so they didnt end up over the track.

So im now looking to fit a
- T5 gearbox
- Uprated brakes
- Stronger diff
- Nice set of tires
- Endless list that will never stop. LOL

It was a non timed event but i was doing prity slow times anyway. Rough timing had me at 1min 55sec mark. Nothing fancy
but better than dropping gearbox or diff oil all over the track. LOL

Was back at winton on the 21st of Jan and i had a ball!!! Very hot day is the first thing that comes to mind! Managed to get into the mid to high 1:40"s on the long track though. YAY!!! That's almost 10 seconds with just a tire and brake change. :)

Tires are second hand 205/50/15 AO48 yoky's i got for $100 and the brakes are magna discs and subaru 2 spot calipers. Nothing fancy.

The heat ment cooling was an on going stress all day as was an odd drop in boost and power. Once i got home and things cooled down i found the reason. Exhaust leak due to a missing wastegate bolt. Doh!!
Image

No more over heating for me!!!!! :D :D
Image

So the job list is......
Fit my new W55 gearbox and bell housing (thanks to Bill Hincher in the US for an awsome price on the BH).
Bolt in my new radiator.
Fix the wastegate
Crank the boost up to 18psi and a re-tune.

Busy busy.

Don't suppose you have the N/A extractors laying around? I am interested in buying them if you do.

A112H - You have a Pm.

OrangeLancer - Custom built buy a guy here in Bendigo. It was not cheap but the quality is amazing. Dimple tubes, super high number of fins per area (forget the number but it was as high as i could get), 4mm thick plate for the end tanks. Guy who built it when i told him the size i wanted said it was mass overkill and would be enough to keep a big block cool! I said good the motor wont over heat then!

Update.

Made it to the dyno at long last. Now running 17psi and pump e85 for safety. Was smooth sailing other than the dump pipe restricting flow so that was a nice change.

Tuner was Rob at Sabbadin automotive who did an amazing job. My cheap ass cars can be PITA to work on so im glad he didn't kill it with fire in a fit of rage. LOL

Next stop winton fun day for a test run and then I can step it up to sprints etc.

I went our for the Winton fun day with JimmyG, and I'm not usually one to be lost for words, but after a ride in that thing, I was just stunned, i mean, I own a 6.0L VZ clubsport, so I know what grunt is, but that Galant would eat the clubby for a snack.

NOTHING on the track that day gained an inch on it, BMW M3 & 5, pfft, bye bye, R34 Skylines etc, lol, we'll be lapping you again shortly. The boost comes on, your brain nearly gets pushed through the back of your head, Jesus it's got some STANK.....

Now I've started hastily stripping the unnecessary parts off my evo motor, to get it in my beast ASAP.
Thanx again Jimmy, VERY inspirational.

Ps, sorry about leaving skid marks on your passenger seat :$ ;-)

Just curious, what bellhousing are you going to be using? Borg warner or something else?
