Hazard lights
So im typing this in the dark so dont judge me on spelling or stuff ups lol
So ever since ive owned my GC ive always wondered if my GC is the only one without a hazard lights button or as i call it park anywhere button
So for all people that have a GC who has them i read in a manual idk if was for GC or similar model but it was on the side of steering wheel box

Re: Hazard lights
You mean the steering column cover? It's meant to be on the left side of the column and is a pull knob with the typical red triangle on it.

Re: Hazard lights
From memory, if there's no pull-button there, there should be a blank in the column cover. A previous GC of mine didn't have anything there to start with, but the button was easy to fit in the gap. I think hazards may have been illegal in Australia at that time, so none were actually fitted (I could be wrong, but I do know that at some time in the past, hazzards were illegal here!). I can't check on my current GC, as I have a different column cover, though still with the same hazards switch on the left (mine's out of a Lancer hand has an intermittent wiper system too, plus light switch controls on the column too!)

Re: Hazard lights
theres a hole there i was thinking a reason might not be there is because was ex rally car so taken out maybe ? i miss having a park anywhere button haha
Re: Hazard lights
I have no idea why someone would remove the hazard light switch - especially on a rally car. Weight saving? I'd think they'd actually need the hazard lights to make it CAMS compliant...Jordan1249 wrote:theres a hole there i was thinking a reason might not be there is because was ex rally car so taken out maybe ? i miss having a park anywhere button haha

Re: Hazard lights
Are they hard to hook up and how would i do
Re: Hazard lights
You got 2 choices - an original factory steering column switch or an after market push on/push off switch. The wiring will be in the column so that part ought to be easy... With the aftermarket switch you can then put it anywhere you like in the dash, just add extra wire to make up the length.

Re: Hazard lights
well ive got a bit hole in my dash where the previous owner put the head deck but ive moved it i was thinking trying ti fibre glassing it having a go see how i go could put the button there, Atm ive got the things that you put you head units face in case wedged in there good hahah
Re: Hazard lights
You mean the stupid shaped hole for the factory AM radio? (the glory hole ) You should be able to make a blanking plate out of alu sheet and put it in from the back of the dash - that's what I did with mine. Either paint or cover it with some kind of film and it will make a good spot for accessory switches.

Re: Hazard lights
Always some tool with no insight starts butchering an otherwise clean car (I'm dealing with 2 pristine door trims that were hatchetted to fit of all things, 6 X 9 speakers in an L200 ute. Yeah, it is ugly... )
