What time does the run leave the bay? Might see if I can get the boy out of bed and make him come for a look, lol

It's a great thing to do mate and the Classic only happens every 2 years. The run itself starts at the Shores at 9am and takes maybe 90mins to leave. I've heard there are 1850 entrants this year and all are between 1955 and 1979!

Well timed shot Jase! Just spotted you and gave a wave at the right time! Great run - no hiccups at all and great weather. I saw two Chrysler Galants and my fellow Colt owner Tony in his 1968 Colt 1100f.

Is Tony's car red? My old man reckons he saw a red one.

Nah, white. To the uneducated eye you could mistake it for mine except his is a 2 door. Here's some pics :

I think there was a red Mazda 1300 coupe outside the event - maybe that was it?

Thanks mate, much appreciated! If I can be lucky enough to make it into the final I've already worked out what to do with the cash. I saw a Silver/Black Sigma Turbo driving the other week and it completely made my day seeing as they are too rare these days. If the cash comes my way I'm going to fix the head gasket on the 68 Sedan, get new Shocks, springs and bushers for the GSR so it's ready for the track, and in January put the GH Turbo on Historic registration so I can drive it whenever I want. The plan will then to be give all the cars plenty of road time and hopefully make other Mitis fans happy by having the cars more visable :). Of course, if I was to win the holiday that puts a spanner in that plan but I guess I'll improvise... ha ha :)

Just realised that you are able to vote once each day for the video section as well as once each day for the photo section. Not sure if the terms and conditions allow for this but the mitsubishi voting page allows it.

Nice Jase! Yeah the other peeps votes seemed to stall a bit over the weekend so maybe they're getting 9-5 work support. Be interesting to see if it ramps up again this week :).

Mmm, looks like I can’t rely on a massive contribution from my work colleagues - a heap of people in one of the teams I roster watched the video this morning and voted, but it looks like any votes after 5 didn’t register on the total vote count even though it said the vote was successful. Maybe because we’re all in the same building the computers think it’s the same machine or something??? Oh well, doing ok so far and maybe the general public will get me over the line :)

Ha ha, thanks mate! When's the next event at Mt Compass? I'm definitely keen to come down and take a look. In the photo category the hand-stand chick has 2141 votes - that's hilarious and a crazy amount of votes! :)

this Sunday mate (2/10/11)

day night event, racing starts at 10.30am, finishes around 10.30pm.

We'll be there in the Magna Carta (the $200 wagon of love)
of course she is now a $1,000 car with all the bits'n'pieces - I prob went a bit overboard...

will try to give her a bit more of a paint-job this saturday
and will be (hopefully) picking up a new (second hand) set of rally rubber with shed loads of tread

Lanac Park down near Mt Compass

look out for the Baby Poo Brown Magna Wagon and come say hi

Nice!! The voting is surprisingly interesting to watch. The Evo guy has launched into the lead by a long way while the Mirage family has stalled slightly! Hopefully consistent polling will keep me third :)

I think given your video is the only one in the top 10 that has anything more than 10 years old and they are wanting to celebrate their 30th I think you are a shoe in. You have got to get the Mitsubishi vote for sure. IMHO

Cheers guys! Actually Jase, that's a very good point. Catching the leaders in the votes may be a hard task now but someone from the forum with a mint Mitsubishi badged Sigma should enter the photo/vid side of things and they'd maybe have a shot at the company vote into the final. When it comes down to it, I'd love to see a show room spec, original car in the final and on telly if that's the result! There's some nice looking GSR's on here in better nick than mine.....

Comp update. The top 4 vids seems to have settled and there hasn't seemed to many new entrants in either catagory. The top two vids have been able to keep 100-150 votes in front of my old girls but I've been able to hold a consistent 100 or so votes in front of 4th. I'll be chuffed to hang onto 3rd :)

Thanks Leigh! Yeah, Mr Evo is flying - he was a late starter too! Keep me posted regarding your spoiler fabrication and let me know when you want to dummy fit it to the GSR :)

Thanks! It might be to no avail though :(. Since this afternoon the 4th place vid has somehow gained roughly 120 votes and flew past me. I've been watching the daily votes for a couple of weeks now so that's got me asking WTF? It's nigh on impossible to get that many votes in a few hours :(

I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but it has seemed dubious from the start, the first and second entries are a bit too nice for a casual competition. I mean we all love our mitsis but how many of you have that many old photos? And the music, are they paying royalties for the use of that? I am a bit of a cynical bastard though. Not gonna give up on you though, still gonna vote everyday. good luck dude
