Revving Problem!

Every time I go to start the car(most times), the engine starts revving until the engine warms up! My car is a Galant GSR HH 1992

Are the revs going up and down continuously?

If so, you may have a vacuum leak.

Check the intake manifold gasket, the plenum gasket, and the throttle body gasket. Also inspect the vacuum hoses.

If you have a butane/lpg torch, you can carefully spray some gas around the manifold while the engine is running to test for leaks. If the revs increase, that indicates a leaking gasket. Be very careful, as you could easily burn yourself should the gas suddenly ignite.
