LA reverse light switch

LA reverse light switch

I have an LA lancer and the reverse lights wont go out.

I have changed the switch and they still stay on. un plug the switch and they go out.


HELP!!!!!

it is the 4 speed g/box with reverse down beside 2nd.

are there different switches. If i need one of them URGENT.

ive got mine disconnected but i have to go for rego soon, luckily im sticking a 5 speed in it first...

remove the switch and check the wires for continuity with a multimeter... i think the contacts in them must wear out

There is a ball bearing that needs to go in before the switch, if it's missing, the light stays on.

is there one or two? coz i took my 4 speed apart today and these 2 little ball bearings appeard out of nowhere and im affraid to put it back together..

somebody that still has the ball bearing should tell us what diameter it is... its not the one thats part of the switch is it?

is the ball bearing about the same size as the tip of the switch?

do you just put it in the hole then put the switch back in .

Yep, the ball bearing is just a bit larger than the tip of the switch and yeah that is exactly how it's done. Even the workshop manuals are very clear about ensuring you don't lose the ball bearing when removing the switch.

same size as the crank bearings on a standard bike

Switch works perfect. Bike not so good now. :wut:
