GK wagon SE 2.6 astron operating temp

Post by GkSikmaWagonSE »

Hey guys
I have just purchased a near immaculate GK wagon SE with the 2.6 astron with the 3 speed auto..
My temperature guard sits a bit over half on the gauge, is this normal?

My sigma has original 134xxxkms on the clock and has just had recon head installed, it has extractors and everything else is standard except for the stereo and GSR 15" alloys with white walls and white venetians :)

Just wondering as I am new to the sigma scene as I am only 17 years old, any help/info woul be much appreciated :)

hello and welcome! sounds like you should be posting some pictures!

ok first up, for the gauge to be sitting in the middle is a little high especially if the cars just been sitting, but there is a possibility it may have a later magna temperature sensor on the intake manifold.

is that where the gauge sits while at idle or after having driven the car?
also, is it pretty much stable around that temp?

maybe something to check here, since the heads been reconditioned ( especially if the temp sensor hasnt been changed ) it wouldnt hurt to check the thermostat and radiator, give it a flush make sure it has good flow.
