L300 Lsd centre into Scorpion

Post by Erik »

Has anyone here heard of putting one of these diffs in a scorp/Sigma before
I gathered some intell from a fairly reliable source that this would work.
If it saves me snapping axles i want to hear about it.
I dont know if it will be the 4wd or 2wd type, but my gut feeling is the 2wd.

I don't see why it wouldn't work I guess. Pretty sure they are a 10 bolt diff same a GH+ Scorpions.
Not sure if it is front or rear diff on the L300 but I am pretty sure you will end up with a 4.8 or something crazy ratio. Say hello to 5000rpm at 100kph, lol

Standard 1.8L 2WD manual final drive is 4.667:1, with a 185/60-14 tyre and 0.85 (ish, whatever the KM132 5th is) 5th gear ratio it'll be doing roughly 3500rpm@100km/h.

Maybe look into air lockers for the front diff of a 4WD L200/L300, maybe Pajero/Triton too? Pretty sure they're the same 10-bolt centre as the GH-on Scorp diffs.

Can't comment on the LSD component but the rear diff centre out of an "SA" Model L300 fits into the GK Scorpion and provides a much better ratio than standard Scorpion Centre. CIG Locker with Scorpion Axles in a Sigma = WIN!
