Sydney- Newcastle. Wollombi Cruise (postponed for now)

Post by 75wagon »

Where will the event be located?
Starting from Berowra, 'Pie in the Sky' on the Old Pacific Highway. Destination Wollombi Tavern (BBQ area out the back)

What date is it organized for?
Postponed until a better date can be found

Information on cruise details:
- Berowra meeting at Pie in the Sky at 10:30am for an 11am leave time (time for Photos and meeting people).
- Newcastle meeting point Wallsend playing fields near the twin Shell service stations 9:00am for 9:15am leave time.
- If any other points need to be organised pm me and I will post them here.

Attending:
1. 75wagon - GC Galant Wagon
2. webby - (car unknown at this stage) and this is a maybe, but first too reply, so he gets points for that
3. si81gma - GH Sigma
4. 77galantv6 - GD Galant
5. Superscan811 - GN Sigma wagon
6. PROSSER - GD wagon
7. lccoop - LC Lancer hatch

More to come I hope, pm me and I'll add you to the list or change your details if needed.

Pie In the Sky is at.
1296 Old Pacific Hwy Cowan NSW 2081 - (02) 9985 7018
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=pie+in ... AQpQY&sa=X

Wollombi Tavern is located near Cessnock.
Corner of Great North Rd, Wollombi Rd and Paynes Crossing Rd.
Yes this does involve a fare bit of driving, but it's worth it. The Great North Rd consists of some of the best driving/riding roads I have been on. It has a good combination of long straights gentle bends, to tight twisty bits that can be as challenging as you choose for them to be (just judge it with your right foot). It's got a really nice country/bush setting. It is always a pleasant day out.

I look forward to seeing as many members attend that can make the trip.
I have been overwhelmed with the attendances to the cruises I have attended so far.

I wont add anyone's name unless they let me know.
You were involved in the discussion, but until you let me officially know you are in then you aren't added to the list.

I wont add members unless they make it official.

I just found out (I don't know where I've been), that the V8 Taxi Cab race is on the same day (10th OCT).

Do we want to continue on this date?
How many are not coming because of it?

Damn Commodores and Falcons :@

I wouldn't say no if you decided to push it back, a bit more time to get stuff finished never goes astray

OK, here's what I'm thinking.
It's now just under a week to go.
We have 5 who have said they are coming (including myself).
The date conflicts with The V8 Taxi Cab race and I now (I'm not good with calendars) I realise it also conflicts with the last day of school holidays.

I propose a Date change to try to attract more members?
I want to hear from those that have said they will attend, what do you think?

Either option is ok by me :) I am looking forward to it, but maybe more people will be able to make it if we put it back a couple of weeks??

Dad has made an offer and it's been accepted. Will be going down to pay for it next weekend and get it ready to either drive it back or organise transport. Not sure on that yet.

OK, I've postponed it for now.
Anyone have any better suggestions of dates (that don't conflict with school holidays and other events)?

Sorry for the stuff up  I'll make sure this doesn't happen again...

We seriously need to find a date that doesn't conflict with school holidays or major sporting events.
I'm open to suggestions, but take note, I am extremely time poor at the moment and don't have a lot of time to spare. Any help I could get with this cruise will be greatly appreciated

Put forward any ideas that you have for dates and we'll see if others agree with it?
