Re-upholstered sunvisor

Post by Scorpma82 »

Hi guys.......these are the links to a set of re-upholstered sunvisors that i'm completing

The pics are:

Stock standard visor

Same visor with 2mm underlay
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/ ... 4b8a3d.jpg

Same visor again with the black velour ontop (just needs the edges tidied up)

Like with the bootspace.......these are not professional quality.......just someone who's tried his hand at it and enjoyed doing it....nothing more than that

Let me know of any +ve or -ve feedback you may have

Mate, looks alright I'll have to do a search and see the headliner because that material looks nice. Looking at those edges, it seems like you got the two flaps sewed together and put it over the visor? If you want to neaten the edges up you could turn them so the outside faces are back to back and restitution them that way, with the foam underlay going over the visor itself and lapping a couple mm around the edge of the visor surface, but leaving roughly 5 mm gap between where the overlapping edges would otherwise touch, then turn the sleeve inside out so the seam is in the inside and re-fit that way, but it would make it a bit more difficult to neatly stretch it over contact adhesive if that's what you were doing.

Yeah I wactually did do it that way last time, inverting the fabric and what not......the problem i had was that it was very difficult to accurately measure where exactly you needed to stitch....too tight, and it wont fit....too loose, and u'll have this lil flapping section...just looks silly
