Interior clip needed...help anyone?!

Post by YSR020 »

Hey guys,

I need 12 interior clips from a Mitsubishi, they're from a 1985 model...does anyone know where I can get them from?
Maybe they were on another model Mitsubishi? I've tried internet/wreckers/Mitsubishi dealer...no luck!
They clip to the plastic kick panel which then slots into the inner door jamb sill

That would be AWESOME! I'll pay good money for them...!

The top section they're 30mm long and 20mm wide
They plug into a hole that's 14mm long and 10mm wide

No luck today with the microfiche, however if you have a chassis number (PM me) I can ask the guys to do an o'seas model parts look up and see if any of those clips were used on vehicles imported here.

The Lancer EX (the Lancer name was used, and excluding Japan) was sold throughout the Asia and the Pacific (Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Australia, New Zealand). It was also sold in South America.

Nah, sorry mate...you didn't lead me astray at all

I've been restoring this car for over a year, and believe me...I've tried to get everything I could get, from all over the world...with mixed success.

The UK guys seem to be able to get alot of stuff straight from Mitsubishi that my local guys can't even find listed. Fingers crossed for jvflash (A)

I really am posting up this pic as an absolute last resort...otherwise I'll find an alternative way to mount everything, as I've done with the rest of the car!

Sincerely appreciate the help though - champion! :D

Still working on it, PM sent.
If we can get to the root of what your model car is known as in the legacy system we may have a little more luck. :banh:
Problem with grey imports is it may be badged a Lancer, but referred to as a Galant, Sigma or other within our in house system.

Hi mate, yes as per your PM these clips are more than likely still available new, it is just a matter of knowing the Mitsubishi part number.
Be careful though as clips have a supplier part number too which does not equate to the Mitsubishi part number so be sure which part number they give you.
I have just finished checking the shed and no clips that size or shape, and there would be a thousand clips in the shed !
I gave my father a large bucket of larger clips so next time I am around there I will have a scrounge through that lot, (probably another thousand clips).

Coincidentally, I was just looking at your projects! I thought my taste was varied...hahaha! Good stuff!

I can get the actual Mitsubishi part number, with the prefix MB?
I assume its genuine, as everything I've pulled off my car has this also!

For example;
MB185549 (front bumper indicators)
MB185765 (left hand corner indicators)
MB185766 (right hand corner indicators)

Does this format ring a bell mate?

I sincerely can't thank you enough... :o

Yes if you have the part numbers I can tell you if MMAL can still source them for supply through our network, but I can only do this for two more weeks.

Okay here are the answers:

MB147285 (A pillar clip) - No longer available
MB189627 (door sill clip) - Yes available through the MMAL Dealer Network will take over 50 days to be received. Expect to pay upfront.
MB012098 (clutch cylinder reservoir) - superceded to MB555202 and Yes still available through the MMAL Dealer Network.
MB185549 (front bumper indicators) - No longer available
MB185765 (left hand corner indicators) - No longer available
MB185766 (right hand corner indicators) - No longer available

Can I ask the Country of origin of the vehicle please? This may help us find on which overseas disk we will find your car.

Cheers

Hey jvflash, thanks heaps - sorry for the delay also I've been running around and not got a chance to go online

My car was originally sold new in Japan and imported here about 10 years ago

I managed to buy MB147285 new, still on their way over and I also ordered MB189627 but since found out it is the wrong part :(
This is a sill mould clip but isn't the one I'm after - this particular clip came out on mid 80s Pajeros

The hunt continues :(
