Removing door window chrome

Post by Chrislb »

Hey guys,

Whats the best way to remove the outside chrome window trim of an lb hatch?
Its looking like I have to just yank them off... but wanted to double check before I damage anything

thanks

i believe you have to remove the glass "hairy squeegee" with a flathead screwdriver
and the trim should be removeable (unless they've been silconed in)

as far as i can see it in the parts catalogue there is 1 clip at the aft part and 2 or 3 flange nuts on the moulding. I never removed them myself but I guess you have to remove the clip and then try to pull the strip upwards, out off the nuts. Hopefully they aren't glued on as A57C said...

If your refering to the front door outer mould there should be 3 - 4 clips that you can just see the end of when the window is down. These ones simply push off from the base with a screw driver be sure not to put too much pressure on the window as they don't take kindly to it ( if concerned remove the window ).
if its the rear curved piece there is 2 nuts and one plastic push pin at the very top wich means window and rubber need removal.

cheers Trev
