Can it be done??

I managed to score a decent set of seats from a scorpion for the low low price of nothing. now since they are in great nick i was thinking maybe they could have a home in the GD hardtop for a while, only problem is.... Will they fit, has anyone else tried this, before i do something stupid and waste my time ect. ect.

I am going to be doing the same thing. Have the seats out of my GC but not out of the Scorpion. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will see if they fit.
Out of interest, what model Scorpion are your seats from?

I have no idea, i was told at a car meet the other night to come pick them up by the end of the week or they go to the tip, so first chance i got i went and got them, he said they are from a scorpion and thats all i know, i would say earlier model as they are completely vinyl, no cloth centers ect. i will post a pic when i get a chance to pull them out of their wrapping properly

hmm fair enough, ill go grab a pic, i hope they fit, if i dye them black they wont stand out and they will be comfy as fark, but wont look as cool as the original hardtop seats

So turns out the rear seats (that were wrapped completely in plastic and covered in years of debris from a fabrication shop) are different from the fronts. not going to complain since they were free

The fronts look kind of luxo if im not wrong.

Not 100% on the rears, looks like GC/D Galant but recovered. But the fronts are Sigma.

id say the rears are sigma aswell, the GD ones dont extend over the wheel arch like this, in the GC-GD im pretty sure the wheel arch protrudes past the seat with just a simple vinyl cover and minimal padding. well, i might skip on putting them into the hardtop, but i might look into fitting the fronts into the GA, sigma seats should fit galants right? i would think so especially since the early models shared alot of their floorpan design with the galants (obviously i will be swapping the rails over)

yeah which is a bugger, wonder how hard it will be to match the cloth used on my hardtop seats, i know cloth isnt a popular choice when recovering seats, but the pattern on these just looks awesome, and also matches the door cards

lol what... they are custom arent they probably one of the dumber things ive done. the seat actualy became detached from this one morning when i got out of the car at work, luckily work is only 2klm down the road.

Man, i have done so much dodgy shit in that car, im surprised i wasn't caught. for the first 6 months i drove it, it was blowing black smoke everywhere, then when i fixed that it was blowing oil everywhere, once i did the manual conversion i drove it around for a week or so without any form of a shifter boot, just an ugly hole down to the gearbox and road, and also the above seat. and thats all i can remember, sure ive done other stupid stuff in it

EDIT: it also had an issue with stalling at the lights while it was an auto, and coupled with a bad starter motor means there was a few weeks/months where i would occasionally have to jump out in traffic with a massive spanner, open the bonnet and give the starter motor a flogging, get back in, start her up and drive away
