GN Track Car AND LC Road car

Post by MRGNLC »

Hey there everyone,
Just thought i'd share my builds with some fellow Mitsy/Chrysler lovers.

Just over a year ago, i needed a cheap car to get around in when a mate told me of his mate selling a SIGMA

Image

For $1000 i got this GN 5 speed with about 160000 km and some forged pistons
Along the way i managed to pick up a set of twin 40mm webers and another head which i've decked to just over 12 comp.
Realising the 40mm's probably wouldn't cut it with the cam i want to run (Massive) i also managed to pick up a set of 45mm's and a manifold and already jetted
for a 2.6L, but all are still on the bench......

Image

Although i have fitted a set of headers and a 2.5" exhaust to give it a bit more oomph

I'd driven it for just over a year when an Audi decided to back into it in traffic :@

So i decided to fix it up and turn it into a track car, and so i needed to find a car to drive in which is where the LC comes into the picture

Looking on eBay one day found me an LC with Noooooooo rust??????????? 88000 genuine kms with log books and spares for $2000

Image

The guy who i bought it off told me how sigma front shocks and brakes bolt straight in, as does the diff (with some brackets for the leaves welded on) and having just bought a 4G from a magna for $100 decided i'd put the weber setup into the lancer, keeping it oldschool

So i decided to go turbo with the Sig, and just a few weeks ago found this for $450 on ebay

Image

not sure how good the carby is, turbo is well punished but the bit i wanted (exhaust manifold) is in great nick! :D

I've seen what most other guys, who are serious about the setup use, and was looking for an efi setup from a magna, when just yesterday i managed to pick up this beauty off a mates mate for $500

Image

He reckons it's got an evo crank and pistons?????? Magna top end (EFI) surge tank (Fuel) and a limo, plus it has the suspension and brakes and diff for the Lancer :D :D :D :D :D

Facebook can also be used, but you need to view each image in full size, then copy the image URL and then paste it here, and add the [img] tags.

I have edited your original post, I managed to get the second of you pics to but the first wont let me see it. I have left your original links there so you can see the difference between what you and I have done.
Make sure that you right click on the image and select 'copy image URL'
Make sure you are that you are viewing one picture, not the album.

If you are unsure about whether a pic works or not, preview the post first, and keep going till it does, it took me about 5 attempts the first time I posted a pic.

I'm still not able to see the pics?

I don't know why I could fix that one for you, but not the others?

Go in to edit your pic link, and check they work?
Just curious, what privacy settings do you have on your pics on FB?

Then the diff is on it's way out. I've seen a few that do this. As the gears and shafts wear then things start to jam up and make it act like a locker when under a lot of load. It's only a matter of time before it dies completely.

Hey guys, it's been a while but I've started the work on both the cars,
the sigma - I've taken the stock carb setup, and replaced it with my e.f.i. one
