Re: getting started on my GSR
Everytime i look at it...i get really tempted...but that would mean that i'd have to completely get rid of my original build plan

Re: getting started on my GSR
mock up of turbo and adaptor plate, brake line is a bit close
love them save them drive them
Re: getting started on my GSR
Whoa. Given the amount of heat thrown off a turbo the brake line isn't going to be the only casualty. The master cylinder is going to get roasted and the brake fluid is going to heat up plenty. Of all the things you don't want exposed to that kind of heat is the gadget that is meant to stop you. I'd be looking for a more compact master cylinder - and one that isn't made from cast alloy. Cordia turbo maybe? The cast steel barrel is less likely to expand from heat exposure and looks to be a less physically bulky item (it may buy you some extra clearance from the turbo housing)

Re: getting started on my GSR
cheers the brake and booster set up will be changed just put the pic up to show the down fall of the manifold and choice of turbo .
the Treadstone preformance manifold is a t3 flange and the turbo i have is a t2 flange. as the manifold is a US sourced item it would be ok on a us starion as all the brake gear is on the other side .
options i have is change turbo to a t3 flange
change manifold
or adapt brake set up
still not sure which path ill take yet

Re: getting started on my GSR
ok little up date spent all day sat working out the intercooler decidedc to ditch the two styles i had and have fitted a saab intercooler , this way i havent had to make huge cuts into the frame and it seems to fit well in front of the radiator leaving my a/c intact. still need to do a bit more work on the radiator brackets but the finished product should allow for easy removal of both.
slow progress but it is still progress
will put some pics up

Re: getting started on my GSR
Not sure if anyone is reading this build anymore however but for those who are ill keep going with the thread
Car is running, dump pipe now fitted, have installed the oil catch can, thermo fan installed not wired in yet though, oil pressure gauge installed pumping arond 50 psi at idle. Next few jobs are heats shields for turbo, exhaust wrap on dump pipe, wire the thermo fan, swap to turbo dizzy, tune and bolt the front end back together.
hope to get a bit done on the weekend but im a busy bee atm

Re: getting started on my GSR
Gt28 is still decent for a 4cyl
And it's a good read
So your turbo. It's a gt model, is that a garett?
